Why award XP for showing up on time?

Bonus xp for players who help the game run smoothly is a fine and dandy idea as long as it isn't overdone. 10% or less then other xp wouldn't hurt.

My fighter always gets battered-am I "normal"?

The level 12 AC 29 fighter is gonna be hit about 25%. A fair portion of these blows will be ciritcal blows as well. You are goign to take damage. The best way to avoid taking damage isn't a better ac but the ability to dish out more damage, get some +3 weapons.

    Argh!! Useless Rogues

Rogues are hardly useless. Even in a lots of fighting campaign the rogue gets a whole lot of opportunities. Get a missle weapon. You will be able to contribute in combat a little more often. Rogues are not great in hand to hand combat past a round or two. Do not underate the value of...

    Iron Heroes...what's your opinion?

I'd have been happy to see the Skill Groups rewritten to be the skills of the game. That way there'd only be 11 or so skills to keep track of , putting a little more emphasis on quick flowing action instead of picky detail. The Token concept/mechanic i'm fine with, i just can't stand that...

LARP taken to the next level?

Looks like the same sorta LARP I was involved in 10 to 22 years ago years ago. Just spiffier production values on the promotional video.

    DnD 3.x encounters per day

when I DM it can be no encounters per day or maybe dozens, yes dozen with an s. It all depends on what the pcs are doing and where they are. My usual player group also seems to play with the philosophy "why resolve one encounter when you can have two or three more at the same time?"

Suggestions for a D&D/Arcana Unearthed fushion game

Goign to be using randomly generated ability scores, so high score requirement feats are going to be special. If a character doesn't qualify for a feat then no problem for me, he doesn't qualify.

Suggestions for a D&D/Arcana Unearthed fushion game

I'm planning on treating the AE/AU spells as another type of magic: "Mystic" in my campaign. All the AE/AU magic related feats work on the Mystic spells but not with Arcane or Divine Spells.

Can you coup de grace with an Inflict Wounds spell?

I'd say no ILW/CLW cannot be used to CDG. I'd say that because Mass Inflict/cure Light Wounds a more powerful version of ILW/CLW could not be used to CDG. Both do the same thing, draw energy to cause harm/wellness. I don't view lower level spells as being more capable then a high level spell.

So, life (on Earth) is much older than what was thought...

Documentaries aren't alwasy the best places to find scientific truths about life the universe and everything. I alwys thoughtthe impact theory of the moon was supposed to happen while the molten glob that was to becoem the earth was struck by something. Certainly a great Cthulhuianic basis for...

Clowns everone hates them so why do they exist?

Plenty of folks like clowns, I don't likeor dislike them myself. Those annoying mimes have got to go however, sure the population of mimes is lower today then it was in 1981 but they are still out there somewhere silently stalking city goers (well it sure better be silently or they'd just be...

Earlier D&D: did you use supplements/expansions?

Basic/expert D&D had a number of supplements of varying comprhensiveness and utility. There were 11 accessory modules AC1-AC11, maybe only 3 or 4 of these count as true supplements. The 14 Gazeteers and the Dawn of the Emperors boxed set. The four books of the creature cruicble series, The...

Are there avid gamers out there who hate cons?

I played in 3 RPG sessions in the last true - con i wen to and two of them hinged on battles with a beholder. Neither DM seemed to have much of a clue how to run a beholder and they were quickly dispatched. I like game days at a shop but i'm not too sure how i feel about local cons. Is there...

    why are wizards so weak?

Wizards get a higher number of spells starting at 1st level in 3e compared to previous versions and even more if they have scores that provide a bonus. More spells = more opportunities and increased "kill power". Wizrds can fashion scrolls left and right in 3e compared to earlier versions...

    America's Stonehenge???

Nah that would have been a bunch of overturned wagons or maybe a ring of outhouses. America's Stonehenge is really just a bad name as it looks nothing like stonehenge, carhenge does it much much better.
