    D&D and the rising pandemic

But even if it was "hiding" at some low level before, there's been a clear year-on-year death excess in 2020, iirc. So there must have been some significant change with respect to the virus' lethality or contagiousness or something. Man... this epidemiology stuff is hard!

    D&D General Player Preferences

Yeah, it's generally the least important thing for me, too. Except for "D&D". ;)

    D&D and the rising pandemic

It could've been defeated if only we didn't have such a thriving disinformation business here in America.

    D&D General Player Preferences

I ticked about half-a-dozen, but my top two (for RPGing in general) are a variety of adventures in a variety of locales; and clear PC impact on the world. For D&D specifically, add on mechanical advancement of PCs (ie, "Ding! Time to level up, woot!").

Some people created a work of cooperative fiction...

Some historians believe that is the most likely site of the fabled Meat Mines of Barbacoa Cañon, as described in the surviving fragments of the logs of ill-fated explorer, Hernán de San Alrevés.

D&D 5E WotC Confirms Horror-themed Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

Well, this is irritating.... It's looking like I'll have to get this one after all! (Also, that's the first of the alt-covers that I really like.)

    D&D 5E Level 20 Class Competition Ideas

Yes, I understand that. The question is, are ANY & ALL of them allowed for the build, or is there a restriction on number, since restrictions are a thing in some contexts? No restriction is mentioned, so I assume not, but... I'm asking, to be certain of the intent. ;)

    D&D 5E Level 20 Class Competition Ideas

Just to clarify re: allowed sources -- Is the intention to allow builds using race/class/bkgd/items/spells/feats pulled from any & all of those sources, or a more restricted set like "PHB+1"?

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Research is suggesting that a relatively few "superspreaders" are responsible for most covid-19 transmissions: https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/06/just-10-20-of-covid-19-cases-behind-80-of-transmission-studies-suggest/

D&D General Time spent on D&D outside of actual play

"A ton". Perhaps even "many tons". Real life and moving a lot has meant I've often gone long stretches without a group. But I still enjoy reading materials, writing adventures, learning new games, and so forth. Whether I play or not, it's pretty much always in my head, and has been since I...

Well, there's always these, although the delivery system is... problematic: https://underworld.fandom.com/wiki/Ultraviolet_Ammunition?file=Bulls.jpg

    D&D and the rising pandemic

I haven't tried online gaming recently (eg, not during covid), but I have in the past. It was fine, not as nice as face-to-face obviously, but it worked well enough. My main issue as GM was that it increased my prep time.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if is there's a difference between a "presymptomatic" and an "asymptomatic" case before a person gets sick/better; or is that something that can't be determined until after the case resolves?

The Plastic Ancestry of the Bulette

Main thing I remember about the plastic bulette I had as a kid is that it was made of dense brown plastic with a spray of green paint on it's back. It was quite pointy, and relatively heavy for its size. Having grown up with three brothers, I learned early on that that little thing was a...

D&D 5E Mysteries, Zone of Truth, and Savvy Players?

Depending upon the exact situation and setting, there might be legal means to avoid questioning for a time or for select suspects (eg, demanding a lawyer/advocate, "pleading the Fifth" if there's such a thing, requirement that a "cleric of Justice" be present, etc.) Certain effects like...

Disney rumour: a new Live Action “Black Cauldron”

I hope this is true. Of children's fantasy, the Prydain books seem to me to be well-suited to live action. I'd certainly look forward to seeing this... whatever it turns out to be.

    Why political ads?

I mainly see gaming-related ads, and ads for life insurance. I hope google doesn't know something about me that I'm unaware of. 😅

D&D 5E Experiences with a PC garrote weapon?

A similar monster attack for reference might be the "tentacle" attack of the choker (Mord's Tome of Foes). It's a little different than those explicit garrote attacks in that it imposes the restrained condition, but no asphyxiation unless it's a critical hit.
