Critical Role Critical Role's Matt Mercer On Civility

Why should be care about what a few people think? It's his game and he should run it the way he wants! He is a fantastic DM , but like any actor, voice or otherwise, they can be s but full of themselves!

D&D 5E Enhancing "Rise of Tiamat" (Practical stuff to try at your table!)

I was wondering if anyone took the factions battles further than the "one on one" match ups? Something more on the line of large scale warfare Ala companion rules? Also, any guesses as to the amount of troops per faction on the good and bad sides?

    D&D 5E Hep with art

When I create my maps, it's a mixture of dundjinni and photoshop. Photoshop is your best friend and like others have posted, the cartographer's guild have some great tutorials that will get you started. Btw...if your ever in a pinch, IM me, I can help you out! Here's a link to some of the...

D&D 5E Enhancing "Rise of Tiamat" (Practical stuff to try at your table!)

I did the same exact thing! The "fetch" quests were really starting to get my players, so A little change up is always a good thing!

    D&D 5E Virtual Online Tabletop for 5e

I'm curious about how much of hog this software would be on older computers without state of the art graphic cards and processors? Will there be size restrictions when it comes to battle maps or dungeons? or is it all based on the horse power of your PC? Do you have any screenshots posted of...

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

Just a random thought now that I've gotten through the comments, but are these adventures meant to played consecutively, or are they just smaller "bite sized" adventures to be thrown in your campaign at any time? The reason I ask, is that I could see them making this one large, very eclectic...

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

Man if you consider that advanced age, what am I when I turn 48 next Wednesday? (insert your own old fart jokes here)

D&D 5E How OLD are YOU

:):):):), I'm gonna be 48 next Wednesday...god I'm getting old, but never too old to D&D!

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

So they are recycling old modules I already have, played, and retuning them for 5E? no thanks. I find this a lazy money grab from WOTC, when they could finally add some solidity to higher level gaming, perhaps an adventure for levels above 12? You won't be getting my money, when I can already...

D&D 5E Can a spell be cast to cause non lethal damage?

I had this scenario just happen to the group I run on Saturday nights. They encountered a group of baddies with a hostage (being mind controlled and attacking as well) in tow, and the wizard wanted to cast a fireball that deals non lethal damage to protect the controlled hostage. I know you can...

    D&D 5E Why can’t I find anything wrong with 5e?

From a person that came from AD&D in the 80's, went on a roughly 25-30 year hiatus, and started up again playing 5E it's night and day. 5e just makes more sense without a lot of convoluted processes. I am really liking 5E a lot, and if a change is really needed someplace, I think it's flexible...

D&D 5E Enhancing "Rise of Tiamat" (Practical stuff to try at your table!)

Everyone is mentioning a "Frozen Castle" bonus chapter ? is this readily available? I had no idea it existed!

D&D 5E Hosting a Fight Night for my Adventurers?

The title basically says it all, I run a group of 6-8 players (depending on who shows) all high level characters that want to spend an evening blowing off some steam away from the actual adventure. At times these players, get a little "mouthy" with each other during the game (all in good fun...

D&D 5E Enhancing "Rise of Tiamat" (Practical stuff to try at your table!)

I think its the only way they could figure out a way to get the characters to a high enough level to battle Tiamat? Even so, getting to level 14, I believe, isn't high enough to fight Tiamat. I have gone beyond this in my campaign, taking the adventurers to level 20 to fight Tiamat the way I...

    D&D 5E DM Bad Habits

I need to be better at note keeping, period. Running a campaign with 6-7 players can get a bit daunting, especially when they all have their own "ideas, hopes and dreams" when it comes to the future of their characters.

D&D 5E Tome of Beasts or Volo's Guide

I have both, but personally a fan of the Tome of Beasts. IMO you can never have enough options when it comes to monsters.

D&D 5E Anti-DM Tips (AKA what NOT to do!)

    60. Over describe every possible scene, battle, and character reactions, with as many adjectives, commentary, and any other nonsensical stuff to slow down the characters progress in the game to a screeching halt, so a introductory scene in a tavern takes all night to complete, AKA "Matt...

D&D 5E Your Biggest Gaming Pet Peeve
