D&D 5E Why did they design Demiplane to suck?

Why is Demiplane needed to stack spell glyphs? Or do they mean it is just safer to do so in your own private pocket dimension?

D&D 5E Why did they design Demiplane to suck?

Two people in the thread, perhaps more if I misread, mentioned Demiplane being part of a way to sustain multiple concentration spells. Is this true? If so does anyone know how and what they were talking about?

    D&D 5E Mirror Image Math

Maybe I am looking at an older version of the Bladesinging tradition but what I read says it ends if you are incapacitated, don medium/heavy armor or shield, or use 2 hands to make an attack. When haste ends you can't move or take actions until after your next turn. I don't see a conflict with...

    D&D 5E Which Invocations

Hmm. I never thought about casting the darkness on the enemy for the darkness/devil sight combo. I always cast it on one of my own items and enjoy the benefits while not obstructing my allies except for very very rare situations.

D&D 5E Does anyone else feel like the action economy and the way actions work in general in 5e both just suck?

I don't think the action economy system works poorly, and it is rather simple overall.

D&D 5E Assassinate and Greater Invisibility

Chapter 9, pg 189, PHB. " Any character or monster that doesn't notice a threat is surprised at the start of the encounter. " Then the rules explain what explains the effects of surprise. To answer the second part, there are several ways to hide as a bonus action. The most common is the class...

D&D 5E Customizing Backgrounds Core Rule - Public Service Announcement

Until I saw this thread, I didn't know that custom backgrounds were something people didn't know about. I've always supported the rule and rather enjoyed that you didn't need to house rule a character having a skill or item proficiency you wanted them to have.

D&D General Should a low level character know to burn a troll?

In most cases where a character's backstory didn't include a reason for them to specifically know something I would say a DM approved skill should be used for a knowledge check with the DC varying depending on the rarity of said monster and the character's backstory.

D&D 5E Should standing up from prone trigger opportunity attack?

No, it should not. It is a bad idea to allow have standing from prone provoke attacks. It makes shoving far too powerful of an option, especially for characters designed to do it well.

why paladins (smite) are powerful: action economy efficiency

It is rumored if you say Paladin three times, you can summon certain forum members, similar to the situations like Bloody Mary or Candyman....

(5e) Should Rogues be able to sneak attack with all light weapons?

I don't mind. I also let it work with unarmed strikes.

Counter spell and calling out spell levels

I don't think there is anything in the normal rules that says it takes an action or reaction to identify a spell as it is being cast. I'm not even sure that the information is secret at all. So I don't tax casters an extra action and I allow an arcana check when a spell is cast to see if they...

    How Do We Survive This?

Color Spray (1st level illusion) blinds a creature if the hit points are lower then the rolled 6d10. A wounded yeti ( I wouldn't count on rolling the 51 hp needed to blind a full health one ) that is blinded can't trigger it's chill gaze, and also provides all the other benefits a blinded enemy...

    How Do We Survive This?

If Fog Cloud is not an option, closing your eyes/not meeting their gaze would help with the Chilling Gaze. The downside is that you will have disadvantage to hit and they will have advantage to hit. Their AC isn't too high, and their damage output isn't amazing, so you could still out damage...

    D&D 5E Spell Picks for Paladin 2/Bard 1/Socerer 1

Not related to spell selection, I am curious if your new character is getting the old character's gear, or being allowed to start with the same type of gear your previous character had. If it is the cleric's gear, why is your new character getting it?

D&D 5E yes, this again: Fighters need more non-combat options

So far I still haven't seen why the Warlock was a better stealther/scout then the fighter. That was what I asked before in regards to the OP talking about the Warlock and Bard scouting and the Fighter supposedly not being able to contribute. If said fighter didn't take stealth then he made a non...

D&D 5E Round out our group!

Barbarian with ok to good dex would be my personal choice for to fill out that group. As for the ranger picking up Cure Light Wounds, I think Goodberry is a much better choice. About the same healing potential unless the ranger has exceptional wisdom. But more importantly are four other factors...

D&D 5E yes, this again: Fighters need more non-combat options

What was the warlock and doing that made them a better scout/stealth character then the fighter? If you take skills to interact with the environment or on a social level then you can do so just like anyone else.

D&D 5E Chill touch vs Troll regeneration

That seems weird to make a spell not work correctly when it is the regeneration that has the drawback to it of being stopped by fire or acid. It usually stops when they reach zero hit points but otherwise doesn't care what kind of damage the creature took.

Non magical arrow fired form a magical bow: are they considered magical?

Ahh. I thought it was clearly spelled out since as written, bows do the damage, and arrows do not. ( Not from a logic standpoint, but from the rules standpoint when you went to check how much damage an attack did. ) I don't factor in previous rules sets into my readings of rules because they are...
