Relax Your Mind and Float Downstream... A Review of Dixit from Libellud!

Dixit is awesome. By far the best of the "party" games. That said, assuming your card is the obvious that's not a great clue in mixed company. References are only fair if you're sure that everyone playing has read/watched/heard the original source. And if you were sure, in this case the clue...

A hungry Panda is a force to be reckoned with... Check out Takenoko!

Takenoko is a fun "gateway" game. I think I've like it better than other simple games like Ticket to Ride and Lords of Waterdeep (all of which I think are 'simpler' than Settlers of Catan) but I think it might wear out quicker short term (only two plays per night/week/month.) My issues so far...

    Gamehackery: Valar Morghulis and DMing

I only speak one language and tend to think the exact opposite of most linguists - the quicker we get to one world language, the quicker we get over a lot of petty squabbles, but this was still a super fun read. A few random comments. While wookie and jawa are indecipherable (and I think SOME...

    Do You Read This News?

Get my RPG (and occasionally other geek news) from ENWorld, my board game news from BoardGameGeek (not that I'm against the coverage here, but its not as complete), get comic book news from comic book sites, get Game of Thrones news from winteriscoming. It keeps me from having to go to a...

Itar's Workshop: Dungeon Terrain and Accessories (Great for 2D tiles)

I can neither confirm or deny that my previous post was formed looking at a megaminis shopping list. :D Unlike most minis people, I prefer plastic to metal for cost/convenience and I know from first hand experience that the megaminis people minis aren't particularly high quality anyway. And the...

Itar's Workshop: Dungeon Terrain and Accessories (Great for 2D tiles)

Not promising a pledge But I am interested in accessories. Wouldn't mind seeing siege weapons, nests, wizard's lab equipment, blacksmith equipment, guillotine, gallows, carpets (bear skin rug!), and small boats - at least a rowboat :P

My Bones are Here! (212 reaper minis)

You ordered SEVEN Kaladraxes? And NINE Cthulhus? I don't even have words... Can you have a campaign end with the party encountering the Dracolich / R'yleh secret council and put all of them on the table at once? I ordered 2 vamps + 1 of every extra + doubles of a handful of things...

My Bones are Here! (212 reaper minis)

Hit the Reaper forums...there are already a few threads of preparation advice etc. The more people that get them and start working, the more people who will be posting advice. So far, it seems popular to dunk them in boiling water for a minute or two, unbend them, then dip them in ice...

Board Game Review: King of Tokyo by IELLO

This game is totally awesome. As a 15-30 minute reworking of Yahtzee with monsters, its not a game to plan your day around, but its awesome for filling in the spots in the middle.

Board Game Review: Arkham Horror by Fantasy Flight

nytmare, well yes table space is an issue - I have a pretty huge table and i think two or three of the big box expansions would fill the table completely. You simply CANNOT play this on a 3x3 folding table and need to use a full-sized dining room table. But I want to speak directly to the rules...

Board Game Review: Arkham Horror by Fantasy Flight

I just recently started playing this with my gf, running 2 characters each. We love it. We've played 3 games so far, the first with a few rules errors including one which I'm pretty sure worked against us to make the game long. The other two with only minor flubs that I think we've got fully...

    Good online tools for campaigns?

You just missed the kickstarter for Realm Works which looks like it could answer a lot of questions. But if you can wait a few months, it might be worth looking at.

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Board Game?

Should I take from this thread that you're not aware of the upcoming card game? http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/133038/pathfinder-adventure-card-game Oh, I see the thread was necromanced. But eh, figure someone probably doesn't know about it. :P

    Man of Steel review (spoilers!)

I skimmed this cuz I was morbidly curious. This was the gist I got: "This was awesome...like Batman Begins" That statement is impossible. My rational mind can simply not process that in any way.

Hardest lesson to learn as a DM / GM?

As I was reading our post I was certain that your 2nd attempt at DMing was going to bomb as much as the 1st due to indecisive players who didn't know what to do without a major plot hook to push them forward or more than one plot hook to choose from. With some gaming groups, a complete lack of...

Kickstarter Questions on Kickstarter and the Tabletop Community

I've backed the Order of the Stick TPBs and Reaper Miniatures kickstarters. I passed on the Formula E board game because I just felt they were priced slightly high for the box contents and their stretch goals and whole campaign were kind of uninspiring. I passed on Kingdom Death: Monsters...
