    Ultra Modern Character Builder?

I think there was an OCB Amethyst set, but not Ultramodern4. Shouldn't be hard to implement, just treat ladders as themes. Or maybe it was Herolab, I could be wrong. It's been a while. For my last two Ultramodern campaigns we just hand-jammed the sheets.

Yeah to be honest, I don't get that either.

FFG's STAR WARS License Renewed - and Includes Episode 7!

Yeah the beginner box was great. I like how the adventure really set the party up for any follow-on adventure the GM wants to lead them to, although the free sequel adventure from the website certainly isn't bad.

    SW d6 to FFG Conversion?

Thanks. That sounds very much in line with what I was thinking but it's been a while since I played d6.

    Best Star Wars RPG?

I still have d6 books sitting around so I get what you mean, it's just been a while since I played any d6 stuff and I've become more accustomed to the D&D model. For the EU, Lucas did say from the start that he will probably ignore EU material if there are any new movies, so I'm not surprised...

    SW d6 to FFG Conversion?

I still have my old d6 material, and it seems close enough to the FFG system that conversion shouldn't be too difficult. Is anyone else working on this? I figure there's no need to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done it.

    Best Star Wars RPG?

Rules for force-users were in edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion. You won't be a Jedi Academy graduate with those rules, though, more like pre-Dagobah Luke. A full-blown Jedi Knight doesn't really fit in a campaign of rogues at the fringes of Imperial control or in the Rebel Alliance. For...

    Best Star Wars RPG?

I get not wanting to invest in a whole line of new books, but the core rules aren't really spread out between multiple books. Each of the core books is more like a sub-setting within the SW universe, but each of the books contains all the core rules needed to play. The starter box has enough...

So... Continuity changes? Do we need a forum group hug or support group?

I like the EU, there's a ton of material for it, and I already prefer to pretend that the prequel trilogy didn't happen, so ignoring the new movies (for gaming purposes, I'll still watch them of course) isn't going to be much of a stretch.

    Best Star Wars RPG?

It was close between d6 and FFG but FFG won out for it's non-binary resolution. I really like the mechanics of the dice and the narrative focus of the game. Of course I'll always have a place in my heart for West End, not to mention the wealth of material that exists for that game. d20 and Saga...

FFG's STAR WARS License Renewed - and Includes Episode 7!

So far my group has been playing with just one set of dice. It hasn't been an issue any more than just one set of dice was a problem for D&D. The really large dice pools don't seem to come up that often, and if they do, grab a die that you already rolled, remember the result, and roll it again.

    State of the Game

I believe the last book is in Beta right now. I would guess that it probably takes place post-RotJ but of course you could use the rules in a setting of your choice. Edge of the Empire takes place shortly after the Battle of Yavin and I think Age of Rebellion takes place closer to Empire...

Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook

5 out of 5 rating for Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook As a longtime fan of Star Wars, I have been disappointed by the d20 adaptions. I was getting ready to dust off the West End d6 books when I came across this game at a convention. I am a fan of FFG but I was skeptical about the...

    Roleplaying X-wing

I've heard of some people combining it with the Edge of the Empire (or Age of Rebellion, same ruleset) RPG, but even though they are both from FFG, the games aren't a perfect fit. You'll have to come up with some sort of conversion system between the two. However, starship combat is one of the...

    digital miniatures & mapping?

Yeah, been there done that. Maptool, free download, java-based program. I've used it for online gaming with friends in other states as well as at home (I built a game table where my LCD TV folds down into a table and I have it hooked up to my computer so I can drop a map onto it).

    X-Men: Days of Future Past

I hate you for saying that. Everyone in the theater was pretty happy with the movie overall and a lot of people clapped at the end (something I never really understood, it's not like the actors or director or anyone can hear you). About half the theater stayed for the post-credits scene, myself...
