    D&D 4E How would you re-envision Greyhawk with 4e?

I'd advance the timeline 10 years on from the end of the Living Greyhawk campaign, incorporating elements of the LG campaign, but allowing for a period in which the writers (including Erik Mona and Sean Reynolds if they could be recruited for this) could make some changes or reveal certain 'new...

About drow...shouldn't they have an int bonus?

Because they can't manipulate as well or hide their true desires as well as the more charismatic ones in their society. When it comes to backstabbing, the game is called Diplomacy. It's not about who is smart and who isn't - it's about who can manipulate and tell a convincing lie.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Will 4e last longer than 3e?

That's not a given unless the market can't be grown - if Wizards can grow the D&D market with 4E (bringing in more new gamers than those who stay with 3E), then your statement wouldn't prove true.

    D&D 4E Not going to 4e

We play 3.5 even while several of us in our group have problems with it, because they're problems we can put up with and still have fun. We're currently playing a 3.5 campaign using an adventure path that we expect to be playing through the end of 2008. In group discussion, nobody is excited...

How many Scrolls can you Scribe in one day?

If you have the Scribe Scroll feat, you can prepare scrolls for future use. The description for the feat nicely informs us: However, I don't think I've ever seen anything in the rules or the FAQ that addresses whether you can prepare multiple scrolls in one day or not per the RAW. Anyone...

    Desert of Desolation rarity distribution

There's a number on the bottom of each booster (20310760000001 for the last set for example) which ends in a 1, 2 or 3. I've found there's typically 4 boosters for each number. The only time I've not got the expected frequency is one case where there was a 5/4/3 split. I tend to order through...

D&D 4E The 4e Mystery Race is going to be...

It doesn't need to be Orcs - but if they are trying to make D&D more strongly distinctive (as the move to Eladrin suggests) then another distinctive to D&D race would seem a possibility.

D&D 4E The 4e Mystery Race is going to be...

Perhaps... As Eladrin are to Elves, the mystery race will be to an existing D&D race? A noble or fey form of Orc?

There's Powerful Deviltry at Work Here...

You may want to avoid with the 'most people ... argue .... is cool' statements - it's subjective to the people you know, and amongst my friends I doubt there's many who think Darth Vader is "cool". Per my reading of the RAW for 3E, Evil characters are only those who show a commitment to evil...

    What scares me

I think the only thing you can do is wait and see what is released and evaluate whether it works for you and your gaming group or not.

UA Action Points - what happens to unused points?

Thanks - have downloaded that and it looks like a reprint of the UA rules from a quick read through. It's only one character that I'm worried about - the player tends to forget he has action points to use (despite others using them constantly) while the other players tend to find useful ways...

UA Action Points - what happens to unused points?

Was there anything in the Rules Compendium?

UA Action Points - what happens to unused points?

In the UA rules for action points (reproduced at http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/actionPoints.htm) under Acquiring Action Points it specifies: However, it doesn't mention what happens to unused points from the previous level. In the Eberron Campaign Setting's rules for action...

    Raging and Wildshape

I can't see any reason that a barbarian druid couldn't wild shape while raging - any rules or FAQ answers I may have overlooked?

    D&D haters???

Sadly, that's not true. I've certainly encountered those attitudes growing up and living in New Zealand. Parents warned by concerned friends and colleagues etc. When I was at University 10 years ago, urban folklore had it that the city of Tauranga, New Zealand had banned roleplaying in public...

So what 3E adventures were worst?

I'll concur with previous posters on Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil's Crater Ridge Mines. The setup to get the players there really didn't work with my group, and we gave up that campaign shortly after arriving at the Mines.

Here's to the extinction of the AOO

I actually wonder if that explains most of the hatred - people who didn't want to bother understanding how it worked, encountering it in game. What slows down combat or other situations where there's a conflict to be resolved in my experience is people encountering a rule that they haven't...

    How soon will you switch?

No earlier than late 2009, when the current 3.5 campaign will come to a planned end. Even then, my group is largely happy to stay with 3.5 and so it may slip to 2010, or never.
