D&D 4E Running player commentary on PCat's 4E Campaign - Heroic tier (finished)

It was a thread where Piratecat discusses how to do that bit in character builder. It focuses on the software issue.

It might be that they have been looking at the "Best of..." collections and realizing that the Dungeon one is light on material.

    Character Builder/Compendium Update

I believe it has been there a while. I remember speculation that they added it so humans could be artificers, and have it make sense.

[character builder] How the heck do I do this?

It's interesting what you can find when playing with the character builder. Click on your class abilities and it opens up all class abilities (from every class, paragon path and epic destiny) for you to be able to take.

January 2010 Releases: Underdark, PH Heroes: Dragonborn, Galaxy of Intrigue

I like the idea. Better to get a smallish book with a single race than the 3E "let's jam as many races together with a theme that often is pretty tenuous" method.

Robin Laws, featured in DMG2, finished HeroQuest 2 -available in June [awesome cover]

Yup, it's been in the works for quite a while. I think it started when someone pointed out how great the system is for a superhero RPG. I really like the new approach of products. As he pointed out, the Sartar book has been long, long overdue. It's about time they put more focus on "classic"...

Experts on other systems, why aren't they d&d?

Ah, first date I saw was '85.

Experts on other systems, why aren't they d&d?

I agree. I would have liked to have seen that. However, the OP phrased the thread is an binary matter. A game is either D&D or it's not. Games just aren't that simple. I think it would be fun to start a thread comparing how close various RPGs are to D&D. All the D&D RPGs would be 10, and...

Experts on other systems, why aren't they d&d?

Six years during the healthiest time for roleplaying is not "roughly contemperous. I will agree that Prince Valiant did not make the same splash. However, the elements that many attribute to Vampire were already out there. White Wolf just found a way to gel them into a system and market them...

"Level Up" issue 1 from Goodman

Too early :) I did do a search, but the search engine seems to have issues with multiple terms.

"Level Up" issue 1 from Goodman

$1.99 at the store (with a code to get the PDF for free). $4.00 for PDF only. Here is Goodman's product page.

"Level Up" issue 1 from Goodman

According to the Goodman page, "This week." I have to admit, I like that it's cheaper in the FLGS than it is online (while still being reasonable online). If either of my stores carries it I will likely pick up a copy.

Can I access full books on DDI?

No. Indeed, you can't even access all the content of every book published to date. Right now we are limited to Races, Classes, Deities, Items, Creatures, Epic Destinies, Paragon Paths, Rituals, Feats, Powers and Skills. If it doesn't fit into one of those pigeonholes, it's not accessible...

"Level Up" issue 1 from Goodman

I picked up the PDF of the first issue of "Level Up" (I was curious, otherwise I would take the intentionally cheaper option of picking it up at my FLGS). I am going to give an overview, without going into any issues with game balance, etc. I don't feel strong enough in 4E to be making any...

Forked Thread: How do you feel about online gaming?

Well, if this is a representative sample, I can see why the virtual game table in not a priority for WotC.

Forked Thread: How do you feel about online gaming?

To be fair, as WotC envisioned the game table it was completely system independent. That sets aside the fact that you would be likely to have to get it as part of the DDI package. Still, not using 4E would not be a disqualifier from using their game table (assuming it is worth the price).

    Druid at wills

Thus, human druids are apparently a popular choice. One of the few classes that really draw people to play humans (in fact, most are controllers).

What "classic" races are left? -- Forked Thread: PH3 Playtest Race: Wilden

Maybe we'll see them when WotC starts tapping into the racial splatbooks.

Forked Thread: How do you feel about online gaming?

I somewhat agree. I prefer face to face gaming by a longshot (and I am generally a non-social person). However, I have a favorite gaming group from years ago that are scatter across the country. Two are in San Francisco, one in Seattle, one in DC, one in Utah and the rest here in DE or...
