Very true. I'm not as big a fan of AFfC as a novel or character study as I am of the other three books. However, it definitely is very useful for someone who wants to explore Westeros more with the RPG. There's a lot of good info in there. And it's still a good story, just not quite Storm of Swords.

I'm likely to adapt the GoT RPG to my own setting, it fits quite well. I've also considered a historical, medieval campaign using the rules. A Roman game would also be very interesting, and have a lot of similar opportunities for political maneuvering.
