    Inheritance! and Books!

Darn! I was hoping I could vicariously live my dream through you. ;)

    Inheritance! and Books!

In that case, I'd definitely recommend upgrading your gaming environment if possible.

    Inheritance! and Books!

Use the money to buy a select few books that you will be using in the immediate future. Switch campaign settings from what you've done previously, switch to a 3rd Party publisher, switch gaming rules even! But I wouldn't suggest buying everything out on the market; there just isn't the time to...

Pathfinder 1E PATHFINDER: A First Look

Not only have James and Erik just convinced me to use my extraneous Dungeon subscriptions to give this Pathfinders a try, their enthusiasm, dedication and amicable customer support has spurned me to go whole hog and sign up for the subscription. I don't think I've been this excited about D&D...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I was initially skeptical of letting my wallet doing the talking, but after considering the issue for a while, I've come to realize that there is actually very little that WotC offers that I absolutely need. I got to thinking, "You're heading off to college in a few months, and certainly will...

    Resting in a Dungeon Crawl

Wow, all these responses have been very helpful. I will try and seek out a copy of the 1e DM's guide from my local used-book seller. However, I vaguely recall hearing that there were multiple 1e games, how can I tell I'm picking up the right DMG? It seems I overlooked this facet when I first...

    Resting in a Dungeon Crawl

At what point would intelligent inhabitants just decide staying isn't worth it? 30% causalities? 50%? 80%? And in general, what do intelligent inhabitants do after the PCs arrive, kill three or four encounters worth, and then dive under the radar (Either rope tricking, hiding or leaving)...

    Resting in a Dungeon Crawl

That might work, but 3 150 gp scrolls of Rope Trick per night is a hefty price for a second level party to pay per night of rest, and far out of reach of a first level party. To even a third level party, it represents a very significant investment of resources.

    Resting in a Dungeon Crawl

I'm a pretty neophyte DM, and have justed started the Shackled City Adventure Path. The first adventure entails the PCs pluming the depths of one 60 room ancinet underground ruins to reach a second dungeon, wherein they are to rescue a few captured children. Predictably, they ran out of gas 4...

    Wizard seeking Wizard

Alright, assuming I do use the ex-Red Wizard idea, how do I subtly drop hints about his existence. The party has just entered an extensive underground ruins, and will likely not return to civilization until level 3. I was considering just leaving a tome written by this guy as treasure, but it...

    Wizard seeking Wizard

Someone suggested a Silver Dragon. Perhaps this might warrant further development.

    Wizard seeking Wizard

Hmmm...this definitely has potential. I didn't really want the wizard to be a baby-eating, virgin sacrificing type, but more of a philosophically evil guy. So the fact that he used to belong to the Red Wizards, but has since (For whatever reasons) left their fold, lends itself to that effect...

    Wizard seeking Wizard

Well, we just had our second session two days ago, so introducing previously undiscovered characters should not be difficult. My main concern is that since most of the adventure takes place in and around one fairly small city (We're playing Shackled City AP, for anyone interested), and since I...

    Wizard seeking Wizard

Here's what I posted over on the Wizards of the Coast Board: The character seeking tutelage is a Transmutation specialist. He was an average joe, middle aged farmer until his home and family were taken by raiders and he descended into all manner of illicit activities. However, he was visited by...

    Wizard seeking Wizard

One of my player's expressed interest in taking levels in the Master Specialist PrC. As per normal in my campaign, I told him that he'd need to find some one to study under - in this case, apprenticing himself to a powerful wizard. But I need help developing that persona. Due to campaign...

Mixing up Monsters in Life's Bazaar (SCAP)

Spoilers lie ahead, so if you're planning to play in Shackled City, do yourself a favor and avoid this thread - it is definitely worth the wait. Let me start by saying my group and I are 3 sessions into the Shackled City Adventure Path (They just reached Ghelve's Locks) and are thoroughly...

Would this be fair to the party? (My guys stay out, please)

If plan on capturing the PCs, set the scene up so that it directly arises from PC action. It takes some of the railroad sting out of it. So, instead of having a group of the baddies show up on the road and, no matter how hard the PCs try to fight their way out, are captured, have the group...

LFGS Business Crisis - HELP PLEASE!

I'm not the exact guy you're looking for, but here's a bump. Good Luck, Name Brother!

I've got a problem in my game! Help!

Well, not surprisingly, I popped up as an INTP too. Although my "N", "T", and "P" all were about 50%, so I could go either way. With the exception of the 'I", I've flipped around all over the scale each time I've taken the Jung test over the last 5 or 6 years.

I've got a problem in my game! Help!

Hmm...I reread the entire thread, and I think I owe you an apology. I falsely attributed you to what some other posters had said, and then based the rest of my reading off that faulty assumption. Also, you are definitely right about not painting the unflattering picture. That slipped my...
