    Batman as a D&D character

Interesting, but having Jim Gordon 1 level below The Joker is kinda ludicrous.

    Batman as a D&D character

I can understand the point about items making Batman seem more powerful than he is... but we are still talking about The motherfin Batman! Regardless of how much more powerful the items he has make him seem, strip him down and he is still at the peak of human ability in both pure physical...

When modern ethics collide with medieval ethics

Not sure this fits well, but I had a hilarious moral dilemma in a recent game. My players had burst into the home of a reclusive wizard and unceremoniously ransacked his house looking for proof of mis-deeds they thought he'd committed. After confronting him, it became obvious he wasn't evil...

    Do you mark your books?

I'm a collector at heart, the thought of marking or tarnishing my books in any way makes my throat knot up.

So my girlfriend wants to learn how to play D&D...

I have a girlfriend into comics, computer games and decent films... but D&D and Sci Fi are a bridge too far (so far). Oh well, if we had everything, we'd get bored, right?... right? Good luck to you by the way.

    Building a Solo Character...

My immediate reaction was Cleric, or some divine spell caster. They're the most likely to have the strength at all levels to compete solo.

    "The Hobbit" Trailer

Dwarves? They're a core race right? Sounds boring... I'd rather play something from some obscure 3rd party release. (joke)

Monk or Assassin, Which do you Dislike?

I think this is kind of my problem. There is no good way to make the Monk feel a proper part of the environment, he always has to play the stranger in a strange land.

Monk or Assassin, Which do you Dislike?

Badly worded, I meant the classic style, western, fantasy barbarian.

Monk or Assassin, Which do you Dislike?

I know they can fit in, there are even Monasteries detailed in the setting, but i've never liked the shoe-horned feeling they tend to bring with them. Like seeing a barbarian with a katana.

Monk or Assassin, Which do you Dislike?

I'm probably biased because I have no love for eastern mythos or styling generally, but I generally can't stand seeing a player roll up a Monk for one of my games. In my opinion it takes a very skilled player to make a Monk fit snugly with the decidedly western (and near-eastern) cultural...

    Mad Max gaming

You have your heart set on certain cars then? I was going to suggest trying to find a copy of the old Dark Future board game... Sadly I lost mine, it was near-mint as well, but got lost in a move.

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

Sounds like a problem person, let alone gamer.

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

That's likely to just cause the power gamer to feel cheated, and game more powerfully! (badly rephrased phrase!)

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

I think its a matter of definition. As the DM I'd think the majority of decisions the players make are run past you. Whether its a conscious thing or not, almost everything they do has to 'convince you' in some way. The purely reasonable requests just bypass that conscious thought process.

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

That depends on how much convincing is needed, surely? If the request is sensible it won't take much convincing at all, if it's ridiculous, they'd have to be very persuasive.

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

I think 'convince me...' should always be the default reply.
