The thread topic is about Crane’s inclusion of Koebel, the fall out, and the subsequent dismissal of Crane from his job. In my mind, Koebel is completely on-topic.

He emotionally abused a partner and destroyed a friendship over a job. He’s not a war criminal, nor is he owed an audience or a platform to reach said audience.

They know. It’s been sort of a big deal for a while.

Which is a shame for the other writers. And I loooove micro RPG's.

Primal I can see come up, given the context. But no one walks around saying, "Ah, yes. Here we are at the campsite. Why, take a look at those primitive tents! And the primitive general store made from logs! Oops, excuse me, I have to go take a dump in that primitive outhouse." But white people...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! Well, I guess there's hope. Thing is, you can tell by the tone of many in this thread (and on Reddit) that folks don't understand just how big a deal this is. And WotC speaking out in support of their treatment of Graeme would go a long way.

There was an initial back-and-forth where the idea was submitted and revised. What came out of that is what was written; not more, nor less. If you haven't yet, you should read his blog posts about this.

Yes, I'm sure you and your camping companions often refer to structures such as tents and log cabins as primitive. This seems extremely likely and totally normal.

That is absolutely my bad. I did not see that. I definitely wouldn't put it that way, but Ruin Explorer is their own person and it's quite clear from their comments that this is not what they intended to convey.

Who is the "their" you are speaking of? Only Ruin Explorer and I have commented on this aspect of the discussion, and neither of us are claiming he is incapable of understanding something due to his age.

I'm making an assumption about him based on the era he grew up in, one that normalized and incentivised the sort of institutionalized racism that resulted in that very thing we are discussing now.

Kim Mohan is the Managing Editor. As I said earlier in the thread, WotC sought out different voices, specifically for this product. To take the voice out of an author's text, text that was pursuing the vision for the book set forth by WotC, is a weird choice. Especially to do so to an author...

It's an outrageous accusation and has no place in this discussion.
