Wicht - Final Ruling on Holy Day + Holy Warrior?

My mistake... I misread the rules and thought the Unholy Warriors gained the location of the figh as signature styles and not (which should have been obvious to me) signature location. :D

    Rules Question

Well, it seems natural to me that the victor is in the position of power and asserts his claims before, and reaps the resources of the defeated before, the defeated has an opportunity to use those resources for whatever the defeated please - in this case to uphold his current position. Why...

Wicht - Final Ruling on Holy Day + Holy Warrior?

Why should the combination Holy Day/Holy Warrior force fighters move first, while the combination Sneaky Trick/Unholy Warrior gives the fighters the advantage of moving last?
  4. Left-handed Hummingbird

    Rules Question

Well... I respectfully disagree. I say Vae Victis! Sashes about to lose a tier should just be careful about challenging other sashes.

Wicht - Final Ruling on Holy Day + Holy Warrior?

I don't quite see the problem? The Dark fighters have the same advantage in their Sneaky Trick/Unholy Warrior combination PLUS they get to last. Yakuza can void any Holy Day with their Dirty Trick. Thus the only path without a countermove to Holy Day is really only Honor (and Honor gets Chi...

    Do you believe in Luck?

Do I believe that some people are consitently more lucky than others? No, absolutely not.

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

Ah. You have not let my expectations down. I'm impressed. Both moves are powerful, but I have to say, she caresses her flute as she says this, I favor poetry in motion. She looks up as if snapping out of a trance, furthermore while fighting in the night the northstar stance is an effective...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

Ailbhe ponders for a while. Even though you used the style of the day, Kith, you didn't use it very effectively, she looks to Sidhe Li, not compared to such a powerful move as yours, Sidhe Li. It appears the fight is not yet decided. I no longer have any doubt that whomever wins this fight is...

    Evil Boards! Poster Limit bad!

It isn't the boards that erases your post when you click 'back' it's your browser that automatically refreshes the page. I'm not sure how to turn that off in IE, but in Opera this is not a problem.
  10. Left-handed Hummingbird

    Rules Question

This is really for Wicht, I suppose, but I'll toss in my ¥: I'd say that the victor gets the spoils first. Then the defeated has to pay. In your example the defeated copper sash would have to go down - and expose him or herself to death at the will of the victor.

    Wicht I need a ruleing.

As to the "when should a fight be measured from" consider this example. No brown belts yet. 1 AM - Fight A begins 2 AM - Fight B begins 3 AM - Fight B ends - with a new green belt 3 AM - Fight C begins with the green belt from B 4 AM - Fight A ends - perhaps with the first brown belt? If you...

    Wicht I need a ruleing.

Generally, I think the most viable option is the most managable one. I would say it is easier to ascertain the current standing of fighters than to do the same with the standing of the fighters as it were when a fight began. Specifically, I think a free choice of dojo style is an anomaly...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

OoC: Sorry for not responding earlier, but the boards' been acting craaazy... Interesting moves. Equally spectacular as the ones in the last round. This time however the round belongs to Kith. She studies Kith' motions, you are closer than ever to the green belt. Do you think you are ready for...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

OoC: OK, back! :) Ailbhe is obviously excited by the display of prowess shown by the two combatants. Leaning eagerly forward, she doesn't miss a single nuance in the two fighters style. Excellent fighting! She claps her hands together once, and look at catches the eye of each of the fighters...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

Again witnessing hard fighting, Ailbhe plays a slow tune while she thinks. Two powerful attacks, but Kith' is stronger. Nice follow-thru, by the way. She nods to the fighter. 2 Points to Kith! 3 Flags Kith - 1 Flag Sidhe Li OoC: Very sorry, but I have been called away from the keyboard. I'll...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

A bit surprised by the ruthlessness of these fighters of honor, Ailbhe has put down her flute completely and sits with her hands folded, watching. This time, there is no hesitation: Devouring hell is certainly bad for your digestion. Kicking by the dungeon may not create quite as large a...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

Ailbhe has been sitting quietly, fingering her flute, but not playing a single note while she watched the fighters' moves. At the end of the round she seems concentrated, and she hesitates before she speaks: The way of the Illuminating Fist? A very poetic move, Sidhe Li, and fitting the time...

Kith defeats Sidhe Li and earns her Green belt!

A red-haired woman arrives on the scene, panting and sweating after a long run. She is wearing a long grey cloak, but both it and her white tunic underneath it has stains from grass and earth. Sorry I'm late, she pants, horse trouble. She smiles, and sits down in the shadow of a nearby tree...

    Wicht- Light Path Questions

Well... winning against higher tiered fighters IS hard, but, as you say, this was intended. The reward is extra ranks, if you win and I think that is enough of an incitament for the fights to happen.
