that's not the same thing. a fighter is a mundane warrior. maybe he's even super-human, but describing his twenty 3-pf wounds from goblin archers as actual arrows piercing his body does not only stretch believability for most people, it's outright dumb. or hilarious.

there are about 60k 3° ed. PHB around in italy (between 3.0 and 3.5, i think), so i guess dnd is quite popular. by contrast, other mainstream rpgs are luck to sell 2000 copies, and indie games (i worked on italian edition of don't rest your head - non cedere al sonno) are expected to sell around...

i'd let the player describe it, and if no one of the other players is against the description, i'd rule it's ok. for instance, maybe he threw the dagger under the monster foot, making it slip or disorienting it

well, even if the group does not notice both possibilities, a skill challenge with the stake "get help" may still lead to both, and more if the DM is not anal retentive, based simply on player descriptions.

i don't think ANY role has EVER helped me defend myself from bad convention players. usually, if they don't like a rule, they play it bad running the game for everyone, or start complaining. they kind of people i like to play with, even at conventions, won't need any protection rules. sules...

not necessary. after all, it's always armor even if not consideret it. feather light : -5% SF, +2 max dex, penalty reduced by 2, consider a light armor as no armor. would be a good +3 modifier...
