Has anyone cancelled their D&D Beyond subscription as a protests over the OGL?

I run an after-school D&D club and many of the students depend on D&DBeyond for their characters. I subscribe to allow them to use all the available options. I have encouraged them to use the website. It would be wrong to take that away now. However, if they continue with this course of...

    Battlezoo Shares The OGL v1.1

I think it's their way of saying, "We might be soulless corporate jerks, but we're relatable soulless corporate jerks. Haha. wink, wink lol."

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

They didn’t release this OGL nor have they explained their intentions behind it. We don’t know the reaction of the industry to the new OGL because they signed an NDA. So far, they are mum except for Matt Colville who doesn’t thing it will affect him. Maybe we are overreacting. Maybe not. We’ll...

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

Is it possible that the language is merely stating that if you use the 1.1 license, the old license is no longer considered authorized? In other words, if I publish something under the 1.1 license, I may not use the past license to defend my use of WotC’s IP. Perhaps they are not attacking those...

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

I must say, it would be difficult for me to support a company that pushed several companies out of business on a technicality that obviously went against the prior guarantees stated by the company. It’s one thing to decide to no longer offer an OGL; it’s quite another to revoke a prior one that...

WotC Hasbro Bets Big on D&D

It was just humor. I’m making fun of the fact that while Wizards seems to be doing better than ever before, they want to make a whole lot more.

    D&D 5E Silverplate: A Tasty Campaign Setting

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/corpusmalicious/silverplate-a-tasty-campaign-setting-for-5e This has got to be one of the weirdest 5e settings I've seen. But I'm strangely intrigued. The art looks amazing. I'd probably use it for a one-shot.

Level Up (A5E) Watch the Trailer for AGAINST THE DRAGONLORDS

I’m curious if they will be playing the original Innfellows or a new set of characters (I hope it’s the latter).

Dragonlance Check Out Shadow of the Dragon Queen's Table of Contents!

I sure wish this was a setting book rather than an adventure. But maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by the adventure.

Krynn Returns: A Preview of Dragonlance

So they've said, but when they revealed their 2023 releases, I didn't see any new settings. Maybe they are waiting until the release of the new core books.

Krynn Returns: A Preview of Dragonlance

Still based on something else, i.e. Critical Role. I like Wildemount and pretty much all the settings they've released, but none of it was created without some kind of prior development. I'd like to see what the team can do when creating something completely original.

Krynn Returns: A Preview of Dragonlance

Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Journey to the Radiant Citadels seemed like risks to me. But I agree about creating a new setting. I would love to see a brand new original setting just for 5e, much like Eberron was for 3e.

Krynn Returns: A Preview of Dragonlance

I must admit that as an adult, I have a hard time reading the novels without occasionally rolling my eyes. But they were magical to my teenage self. I'd like to recapture some of that magic. I'm not sure it's even possible, but I'd like to try.

Krynn Returns: A Preview of Dragonlance

I am excited about these products, but I have to admit, they don't feel very Dragonlance-y to me. They seem to be emphasizing the war element. Yes, the war was obviously a major part. However, to me, it's really about heroics, how good but flawed people bring the light in times of darkness...

Podcast #225: What We Would Change in Dragonlance

    1. In the context of the conversation, I'm talking about Native American tribes, specifically of the midwestern plains. 2. The main issue is that the characters are white. All the characters in old Dragonlance are basically white. Why not make one based on indigenous people of North America a...

Podcast #225: What We Would Change in Dragonlance

There’s a lot of reasons that a woman might be called Goldmoon besides her hair color. I know that’s the reason stated in the book, but it need not be so. I think you could leave the essential parts of the characters intact while giving them more of an authentic indigenous portrayal.
