    Dominion

This is certainly on my list to buy, unfortunately Milsims has been sold out on the last three occasions I was there. Luckily I can console myself with Talisman that I picked up on sale for AU$25 (not the latest edition but who cares). Note to aussies who didn't make it into the sale: they say...

    Carcassonne Expansions

Oh, and I forgot to mention the catapult. When I saw it, I thought it looked very silly and probably a load of rubbish. I was right. . . That said, it is an effective way to break up the game, break peoples concentration and get everyone to stretch a little. I can see us using it as a...

    Carcassonne Expansions

Having now played quite a few games with Cult, Siege and Creativity I can give some feedback on it. The siege tiles are brilliant. The mechanic is simple enough to use with all other expansions and it can be fun to kill opponents 20 pt cities! The Cult is not so good, placing it so that a...

Top 100 3PP Books of the Third Edition Era?

Mine would be: Ptolus (Malhavok) Kingdoms of Kalamar Campaign Setting (Kenzer&Co) The Book of the Righteous (Green Ronin) A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe (Expeditious Retreat Press) Fury in the Wastelands (Kenzer)

So what's your favourite beer? (Forked Thread)

Did you go to the Delirium Cafe in Brussels. they had something like 500 beers on the menu! Good times.

So what's your favourite beer? (Forked Thread)

La Chouffe can be found in Melbourne at Beer DeLuxe (in fed square) or at the Euro Beer Cafe. I might have seen it at the Belgium in St. Kinda Rd but I wont swear on it. I am not sure if Dan Murpheys carries it. A good beer though!

So what's your favourite beer? (Forked Thread)

I feel very lucky to live in Melbourne, we have lots of pubs and bars with a massive array of beers. My favourite beer on tap at the moment is Kirin (don't like it bottled for some reason) or possibly one of the James Squire beers (the bar at uni has them) Personally, I like to try as many...

What kinds of True20 Campaigns are you running?

I got a message the other night about a potential Caliphate Nights campaign. I have wanted to run /play in one for ages so I really hope it goes ahead.

WotC changes how D&D mini's are going to be sold.

I must admit I am impressed! I can see myself buying more miniatures using this format. I do wonder about the MM minis though. 1 visible mini? will this be a random common or a showpiece figure? The supply of commons is also likely to dry up, with only 2-3 per box. People won't have to buy as...

    Sandbox-style: What's your opinion?

I would have to say I am a sandbox DM of possibly the most extreme form. I really tend to get bored of pre-written stuff. the last (and only time in the last 5 years I think) time I ran one I ended up skipping three quarters of the module so I could get back to making stuff up. The way I tend...

Kruthik Hivemind: What were they thinking?

This sounds like a perfect opportunity to introduce the players to the idea of 'running away'. I know that sounds a bit radical but . . .

What products do you wish WotC would re-do?

I would suggest the 4e compatible (in that there are no 3.5 rules in it as far as I recall) A Magical Society: Ecology and Culture by XRP. walks you right through it! Back on topic though. I would like to see The Stronghold Builders guidebook (the second ed one more than the third) make a...

Edition Signature Settings (and a farewell to the Realms)

Don't forget Wizards has two more Setting Search worlds hidden away somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them in 2011 if not 2010. Other than that, I think it would be a toss between Ravenloft, Dark Sun and OA / Rokugan.

What do you want from your Fantasy Roleplaying Game

Good question. I do like the skill challenges of 4th ed, I think they will come in handy when abstraction is needed / wanted. Otherwise: Class features / powers that can be used to subtly change NPC attitudes. Stuff that's not flashy or powerful and can be used in non-combat situations.

What do you want from your Fantasy Roleplaying Game

My perfect fantasy rpg is flexible. I want something that works for diplomatic intrigue campaigns, but also for those random monster encounters that just seem to crop up in every campaign (usually becuase I need time to think about the last rp scene). I used to think this worked for dnd 3.0...

[Board Games] Carcassonne add-ons that decrease its nastiness?

I think King and Baron is for Xbox. There is a king and Scout expansion for the normal game that introduces 'Longest Road' and 'Largest City' rules, but it does not reduce the 'nastiness' as you call it at all. Traders and Builders does add incentive to complete others cities. 'The Count of...

    PHB II in March?

They might put a couple of specialist wizards in the Arcane Power book; probably not the illusionist though.
