    D&D 5E Multiclassing in Next

I didn't take it too seriously. I thought he was just being sarcastic. I could be wrong though. :p

    By the Nose

I agree with this. If you give the players clues and hints and they still fall for it, well that's DnD. ;)

    By the Nose

I think he was referring to trusted NPCs. If an NPC you have trusted for an extended period of time who has never intentionally steered you wrong suddenly leads you to a trap, that would frustrate me. I would be very disappointed in my DM.

    Weirdness

My iPad2 does that sort of stuff as well. I usually chalk it up to a communication glitch between my iPad and the web site. I find if you clear your history and cookies it resets to normal. Some times it's quite amusing like the time when Morrus' avatar replaced all the report bad post symbols...

    D&D 5E Multiclassing in Next

Maybe what Mearls meant was that the 10 th level fighter who becomes a 1st level wizard will just get access to higher level spell slots rather than higher level spells. Didn't they say at one point that spells don't scale unless you put them in a higher slot? So say the burning hands that does...

The Perturbed Dragon S01E04: The Cliche [video]

    That's not a cliche. That's my plot hook! :p

Something that has to be modeled in this game and currently is not

For me personally, it wouldn't be of much use. I just don't care about such things. I don't feel it brings much into the game except something else to track. However, I think it would make an excellent module for those interested. And, as previously mentioned, I think the disease track from 4e...

    The case against Combat Superiority

This right here. We discussed this at our last game. It is most useful to give up 1 die of damage for the fighter to set up the extra dice the rouge gets. It's definitely a good trade off as far as actual damage goes. And granting advantage to everyone who attacks the prone target is not a bad...

    The case against Combat Superiority

I agree with this. Just this one little tweak opens up all kinds of new possibilities.

    D&D 5E How I ran combat in AD&D - doable in 5e?

In our play test we tend to mix it up a bit. Some of it is grid less (especially small random or throw away encounters) and some is with the grid. The grid is mainly because for a large fight I like to know where everyone is during the fight and I have trouble visualizing positions in my head...

    WotC's Yuan-Ti vs. Your Yuan-Ti

Actually, I like your take on them. I was just pointing out that prior descriptions don't match your version. It could work either way. It all comes down to how you fluff them, I guess.

    WotC's Yuan-Ti vs. Your Yuan-Ti

I have never heard of Anathemas before. What's the source? They sound interesting.

    WotC's Yuan-Ti vs. Your Yuan-Ti

Their background has always been humans who want to be snakes. The more snake like you are the higher your status is. I'm afraid you have this one backwards.

    Roll Attacks With a Special d12 - Not a d20

While this isn't a problem for me, because I like to roll dice, it seems like a very creative solution. And if your players are cool with it, then by all means go for it! The only problem I would have with it is that there is no possibility of and automatic miss (a"1"), or an automatic hit (a...

    D&D 5E Druids power source for 5e

I voted primal, but I could see an excellent case for divine. I wasn't a big fan of the power sources of 4e, but I liked the flavor they gave primal. It was basically the spirits of nature granting power to Druids and shamans etc. So in essence it is "nature" or "natural" but one could also make...

Legends & Lore 09/03 - RPG design philosophy

I didn't read that as a snide remark. He actually used that as an example of what could happen should a DM deciede to build such an encounter. Because lets face it, Tiamat vs. 1st level party isn't exactly balanced. ;)

Skeletal Society: A D&D Next Fan Adventure

Darn real life. Always getting in the way of my fun! Lol. No worries. When ever you get to it is fine. I'll let you know how it goes when we play this one. By the way here's a link to my little report on Rats in the Sewer: http://www.enworld.org/forum/6006525-post9.html

Rats in the Sewer: A D&D Next Fan Adventure

Just an FYI: I ran this for my group last week. (My first time running a game in about two years! :D ). It was a blast. Unfortunately I only had two players (and one was leaving the area the next week, so we decided to play it anyway). Thanks to some good rolls and role playing on the players...
