    D&D 5E Perception vs Investigate

I tend to fall back on the 3E skills, Spot (Perception) vs Search (Investigate), even though the skill descriptions don't really match up. In 3E, search (which was Intelligence based) was used when you actively looked for something. Spot (Wisdom based) helped you notice something out of place...

Unearthed Arcana New Barbarian Primal Paths in November 7th Unearthed Arcana

New Barbarian Primal Paths are up for testing in the newest Unearthed Arcana - Path of the Ancestral Guardian, Path of the Storm Herald, and Path of the Zealot. As mentioned previously, Unearthed Arcana is going weekly for a while, while Sage Advice is being put on hold.

Chief Guh is not in the random packs. She is sold as a "case incentive" seperately figure. As a store, I can only order 1 Chief Guh for every case that I order. Wiz Kids does this for each of the D&D sets, and also for the Pathfinder sets.

D&D 5E To make all class/race combinations viable: adding +1 ability bonus from class that you take at your 1st level

I did something like this for my campaign. We use 25-point-buy, and get a first class 1 point bonus in one of their two primary stats (based on saving throw proficiency).

D&D 5E Dispel Magic vs buffs - does the caster know what target has active?

How do you observe an attacker take disadvantage? The character does not roll 2 dice, the player does. All the observer would see is the the attacker hitting or missing, or the defender getting out of the way or not.

    D&D 5E Is he evil?

I agree with evil act, not necessarily evil character. Also, probably not a lawful action. At least worthy of a trial. And most likely, even if found innocent, character and maybe whole party banned from tavern at least, likely from whole town. And having to pay to support widow and children...

Almost as much as obnoxious as threadjacking.

I agree fully. To Mouseferatu, to you, and everybody else, I apologize for adding to this stealth-assassin threadjacking.

D&D 5E Little rules changes that still trip you up

The surprised character who wins initiative is not acting before the surprising attacker. If he is surprised he doesn't act during the first round. But he can react. Something the ninja did in drawing or shooting the bow, throwing the star, swinging the sword, whatever caught the attention of...

D&D 5E Little rules changes that still trip you up

Actually, the auto success/fail was not in 3E (PHB 3.0 page 119). It was added in 3.5 (PHB 3.5 page 136).

    D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder Miniatures

With the figures numbered 1-45 (including case-incentive Chief Guh), plus 4 B-version of some of the giants, plus 8 invisible versions of some of the characters, brings the number of uniques to 57. If you don't consider variant weapon and coloration to be unique, the number drops to 40 uniques.

    D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder Miniatures

I am most curious about what race is represented by Cazi Alphelandra (6/45). She is on a small base, kind of elvish looking but a bit small for an elf, way too tall for gnome or halfling.

    D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder Miniatures

Fortunately, these minis are not designed for miniature hobbyists, they are designed for D&D role players and DMs. I like to run my game using lots of minis, and I prefer to spend my time planning the adventures, developing my own campaign, and prepping for the next game session. (I am running...

The new giants are larger. For the most part, they are larger than the huge giants from the older WotC D&D huge giants from Giants of Legend and from Against the Giants.

    D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder Miniatures

In the full-case purchase (that's 4 bricks of 8 packs in a sealed case) I got a complete set except for the invisible versions of 4 figures. With each release, that has been the situation. 3-5 of each common, 2-3 of each uncommon, 1 of each rare, half of the very rares (the invisibles).
