AFMBE - What Should I Expect?

That's what the hollow points are for! :p

AFMBE - What Should I Expect?

You'll like the Unisystem then. The Life Point (Hitpoints) range for normal humans is 18-58. A .45 calibre bullet does d8x4 for an average of 16 points. However against a living target (ie. a human) a normal bullet does x2 damage. That average jumps to 32. If you're using hollow points, it...

AFMBE - What Should I Expect?

Okay, my copy is 2-3 years old, so it's before the d20 support was added. Most chapters start off with some flavor text, usually a page or two. Several of them illustrate specific campaign examples, others are more vague. The game uses the Unisystem rules which are similar to d20, but using...

Paladins and Good Aligned Folk In War - Are Orc Children Slain?

See, that's exactly what we would do in one of our games. Whenever we talked about it we would all agree that the survivors would most likely be absorbed into one of the other tribes. No big deal. I also agree that this thread is very, very surreal. But hey, whatever works. The orcs...

Paladins and Good Aligned Folk In War - Are Orc Children Slain?

Not exactly. I'm just pointing out the differences in styles and trying to lighten up a dark thread with a little humor. I'm not trying to criticize anyone's playing style or anything like that. I'm simply advocating that it's a game and I'm just playing it for fun. Have you ever read the...

Paladins and Good Aligned Folk In War - Are Orc Children Slain?

You guys are looking at it the wrong way. Think of it as forestry. If you run out and cut down all the trees, what happens? So if you kill all the orc women and orc children, what are you going to do in 10-20 years when you want some treasure? Or, in 10-20 years when the orcs are gone, who...

Paladins and Good Aligned Folk In War - Are Orc Children Slain?

R E A L I T Y C H E C K ! ! ! Please note that this post is NOT in response to any one previous post or poster in particular. When D&D started out, it was a simple game of hack-n-slash, loosely bound with some plots and bits of story-line. Read some of the original modules. It was most...

    Delicate Subjects...

Speaking as a GM (I run a Star Wars D20 game) I would rather know if my players were not enjoying the game. Be tactful. Be discrete. Do it between sessions. You also might want to talk to the other players, to see if they are also unhappy.

Arthaus reverts rights to Ravenloft and Gamma World back to Wotc

Maybe in that year leading up to the release WW should have sat down and listened to the customers.

Arthaus reverts rights to Ravenloft and Gamma World back to Wotc

The Alternity version was essentially dumped on the market as a "favor" to the gamers. It was already common knowledge that there would be no support and no additional books. Not only that, but it was also common knowledge that the entire Alternity line was dead. Rumors were already...

Arthaus reverts rights to Ravenloft and Gamma World back to Wotc

Nope. :p You cannot seriously tell me you're going to mourn White Wolf's version of Gamma World. Ravenloft, I could see people mourning. But, the setting was dumped before and it was kept going by indviduals online (the Kargatane) until WW picked it up. It would not surprise me at all...

Sorry about that. I've gotta wipe the spit off my monitor now. :]

Arthaus reverts rights to Ravenloft and Gamma World back to Wotc

I know absolutely nothing about their version of Ravenloft, so I cannot comment on that. Henry, I agree with you that they at least made an attempt. But the way they went about it was staggering. Throughout the GW editions (6-7 depending on your count) some things have changed and some have...

Arthaus reverts rights to Ravenloft and Gamma World back to Wotc

THANK YOU GOD!!! "Great Job" my ass. White Wolf completely buggered Gamma World. Not only did they botch the setting, but the books themselves are misleading and completely useless. Gamma World had two key concepts throughout the previous editions. One, anything goes fun. You did not play...

    The Secrets of Zir'An

http://www.shadownessence.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6079 This review seems pretty comprehensive. There's supposed to be a second part, but I don't think it's been posted yet. BTW, I linked to it from the official SoZ forum, so thanks to Stone Dog.

    The Secrets of Zir'An

Has anyone purchased the new Arthaus game "Secrets of Zir'An"? Any thoughts, reviews, opinions, love it/hate it, etc? Thanks in advance

A Sore Thumb: Ways for a Chinese girl to stand out?

Her actions will do more to implant her in a character's memory than looks. A male character, especially in a RPG is going to see gorgeous women in every adventure. In two years he will probably have had at least one love affair and seen scores of heart stopping women. Yes, a red haired asian...
