Ptolus: The Prison of the Sahuagin Queen

Vanden, too, proceeds forward. The mystery of their dilemma continues to plague him all the while.

    Alan Moore still hates Hollywood

When Alan Moore changes his mind and embraces Hollywood and motion picture adaptation process, that will be news.

Eoin Colfer to write sixth Hitchhiker's Book

Agreed. Don't like this one bit. Much as I disliked Mostly Harmless and would have loved to have Adams come back and write a sequel, I'd rather not see anyone else do it. The Amber "prequels" should stand as testament to the folly of allowing others to dabble in the original author's playground.

Ptolus: The Prison of the Sahuagin Queen

"That is a very good point," Vanden comments, still dubious. "The presence of the door in the distance seems to indicate this isn't her prison, but it would certainly be a deterrent to her escape."

Ptolus: The Prison of the Sahuagin Queen

Vanden halts in his progress, momentarily shaken by the sudden change in environment. "This cannot be real," he murmurs. Kneeling, he tests the texture of the sand, grabbing a fistful and letting it seep through his fingers. "Garnet," he calls to his sorcerous companion, "Are you able to detect...

What other settings should get the FR treatment?

This would be the only way I'd be at all interested in some setting revivals (at least if the options were limited to 1) Jump forward or 2) jump backwards), particularly Mystara. If they were to try and do a 4E FR with Mystara, I don't think I'd be terribly interested. I'd have to see who/what...

    Tropic Thunder

Saw it in a screening back in March(?) I think (maybe February). Thought it was hysterical. I'm planning on seeing it again in theatres to see if they made any changes due to audience reactions (from the trailers, there appears to be at least one scene added that wasn't in the cut I saw).

    Technical Help - Screen Display

Yeah, that's right. Possibly. Stupidly enough, I haven't thought to try it with other games. :heh: Yeah, using Windows. Will try some of your other suggestions. Thanks for the help guys. Will let you know what else I find out.

    Technical Help - Screen Display

I'll definitely try your boot suggestion. Any thoughts as to why the color display would work fine when I run my video game, but not otherwise? That's what's really bugging me about the whole thing.

Final Fantasy XII sucks. Period. Fact.

I haven't finished it yet, but for the most part I really like XII. It's one of my favorite in the series. Visually, it's beautiful- the cut scenes are awesome. And it is, by far (IMO) the best voice acting in the series. There are still some translation issues, but far fewer than in other...

    Technical Help - Screen Display

Okay, here's something weird that maybe someone knows something about: Last week, my screen's display suddenly got this weird blue tint to it- as if the red was gone. I tried several things- I degaussed the monitor, fiddled with the monitor display, tried checking the monitor cable; I even...

    Shaky Wolverine trailer from Comicon

In the comics they do, yes. Weapon X put all sorts of weird memory implants into their agents, and did a bunch of tampering with their heads to the point that they have memory loss, false memories, etc. Wolverine and Sabretooth remember that they have some kind of past together (in the...

    Shaky Wolverine trailer from Comicon

They did make a rather large point in the first two movies about Wolverine's memory loss that even Professor X and Jean weren't capable of fixing. Presumably that will cover it (it's pretty much how they explained things in the comic, for that matter.)

    Historical Fiction (books)

I'd definitely second Cornwell's work. Love his Sharpe novels, though they do tend to get repetitive after a while. My favorite of his is actually The Gallows Thief, set around the same time period as the Sharpe series. In addition to the aforementioned Napoleonic, Hundred Years' War (the Grail...

Hulk vs Thor/Hulk vs Wolverine trailers

Peter David's Hulk was the only one that I ever liked in the comics- particularly the Merged Hulk (Hulk with Banner's persona in charge). I've never cared much for the childlike/dumb Hulk. I did really enjoy the TV series and the movies, as far as the Hulk in alternative media.

The Good, the Bad and the Weird!

That looks sweet. Reminds me of a Stephen Chow movie. Going to have to keep my eyes peeled. Thanks for posting this!

    Shaky Wolverine trailer from Comicon

Another one here who has never quite understood the Gambit worship. I think the character's okay, but not cult inspiring okay. They've been rewriting history since the first X-Men. Logan isn't an American, either (and I don't think Creed is supposed to be, but somehow his kid was able to run...

    TRON 2 trailer is up

Those Light Cycles look like they're moving too slowly, to me. Maybe it's just the bad bootleg of the teaser, but they don't seem quite as cool as the original Tron Light Cycles. They meander, and make elliptical lines, rather than zip along and make only right angle turns. Kind of bugs me...

    Darren Aronofsky to remake Robocop

The last I heard, it was unclear whether it was a remake or not, but I think it would be a damn shame to remake it. The first movie still holds up and is a classic. The sequels, not quite so much (especially the recent Sci-Fi Channel Robocop movie... ugh). I seem to recall the TV series not...
