    My Weird Cat

I like this thread. Made me "d'awww" a couple of times. Cute stuff. Our cat likes to talk to people. She looks at you and meows, and if you meow to her she'll meow back again, and if you keep at this for a while so she's socialized enough she'll start purring.

Mr. Noah does not play World of Warcraft

I actually heard that Mr. Noah and Superman had a contest over who was the tougher man, and the loser would have to wear underwear over their regular clothes.

Players: Do you keep a character journal?

    Cracked me up. .... :)

New Lord of the Rings RPG!

I concur, John Howe's art work is just phenomenal. Just the thing to inspire DMs. First few things that popped into mind that would be on my wish list: -As accurate a description as you can have of the Middle-Earth. By this I mean that you won't be a wizard or such because there just weren't...

What do you like in your RPG?

Simply put: In my games, I enjoy good plot/story, great roleplaying moments and dialogue, anthropology and consistency. I do not see the need for allegory, but difficult themes and moral dilemmas and tough situations get more out of the characters and of the whole experience, I find, than a...

    King of RPGs

Why would I like to know about a freaking cool comic like this? Good to know you intend to keep on making more, I'll be sure to get a copy (or make my comic book enthusiast of a friend buy it and then borrow it from him). Nah, I'll just buy it myself.

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

I've yet to preview the Mazes and Minotaurs, as there's quite a lot of reading to do (thanks to everyone for that). The BRP seems to do some things quite good, but I haven't seen too much of different manoeuvres to do in combat, not sure about how it will play with long campaign either - there's...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Yeah, I'm reading the quickstart PDF now. I checked and my local gaming store actually has the book, which is almost phenomenal, since they hardly order rpg books on the shelves anymore. Frankly it's a disgrace, they only have a single shelf in the corner. Rest is miniatures and manga. Nothing...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

If that is the case I trust your opinion a lot more than I trust my hastily acquired first impressions from reviews and market slogans. I'll have to take a peek at the actual book in a store and then decide what to do. That was the only thing that did bother me from what I saw, so I'm kind of on...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

I've had a bit closer look on Basic Roleplaying, and it seems fine except for the fact that they claim to have quick and deadly fights, with the first one to land a blow to be the winner quite often. This is exactly the thing that most of us think is closest to a flaw in our current GURPS game -...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Thanks Lanefan. I'm going to run a very home-brewn version myself (the place is not even called Greece or Hellas anymore, and I've pretty much changed the pantheon for my own... someone might ask why even call it Greek anymore, but aside from those factors, it's going to be very Greek). I've...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Thanks jdrakeh, I'll have a look at the supplement. I had been pondering what kind of diet was usual for Greeks, and this one had an answer, so it was definitely of use, especially as it seems a tad richer on cultural aspects than some books. Of course there are a lot of books on Greek culture...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Thanks, pawsplay, I'll look these up. I can pretty much say that if I want to play with d20 I'm all set, for most of the options (which already are more plentiful than I expected, well kind of, since I KNEW there had to be games on the subject) seem to be d20. After I submerge myself in these...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Aaand more reading :) Mazes and Minotaurs is added to the list. Thanks! I have to say, it's really nice to see so many older products released as a free edition after a while. It just goes to show they were not made entirely with monetary motivations in mind.

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Thanks to both of you, I will look these up and see if I can use them. At least I know for sure that this genre isn't completely overlooked. I've yet to explore any of these properly (I'm reading the New Argonauts now, as it is free) and at a quick first glance I'll have to wait and see if...

Looking for a Greek-style rpg system (or an equivalent universal system)

Hello all, I've been reading all sorts of role-playing forums for about a decade now, sometimes registering and sometimes not, and now at the face of defeat I feel again the need to register. About a year ago I had the idea of GMing an Ancient Greek-themed campaign, it seemed like a good and...
