Baldur's Gate - Something Is Coming

So, apparently an enhanced edition? I wonder for which formats. Will they include consoles, tablets?

Baldur's Gate Countdown Ends... Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for Summer 2012

crosspost on facebook from twitter: "Atari Reveals Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for Summer 2012". Regardless of the website being down, that's apparently the announcement. And damn that's a good announcement! :)

Baldur's Gate - Something Is Coming

18 minutes! psyched as hell. Played almost all pc releases in Forgotten realms since Baldur's Gate 1. Can't wait what this means. BG series was still the best! Edit - timer just hit 00:00:00 and the server crashed...

    Stupidest things PCs/DMs have done

to name three from a long list: - trying to sneak up to a shadow dragon with a party of level 2 heavily armoured fighters and clerics (2nd edition) - Dwarven Fighter/Cleric casting the "Fly" spell, and proceeding to charge the ancient red dragon which is just flying by. (3.5 edition) -...

Are your players usually ok with restrictions?

We have some restrictions in our campaigns all the time never been an issue. On the other hand we also are not afraid to change classes and their restrictions/abilities. (i.e. I'm now playing a favoured soul, who uses the bard spell list and we also have a chaotic good paladin in the party)...

    Campaign Help

I really enjoyed DM-ing The Return to Castle Ravenloft 3.5 campaign. As a side quest of a few sessions, I reccommend the 3.5 Tomb of Horrors remake for any campaign.

Nice things players have done for DM's/GM's

My gaming group consists for 80% of out-of-game friends as well. We also alternated in GM-ing over the years. What we've done for respective GMs but also for co-players: * birthday gifts * helping with moving * beer, soda, snacks, food, other munchies on gamenight * providing minis, source...

    Lousy Poker Face?

Wow, talk about metagaming. :-S That's pretty far from actual roleplaying IMHO. They should take an in-game action which would seem best according to their characters point of view, not go on the twitches on the DMs face. Seriously, if it happens too often I'd simply tell them.

    DM - Adversarial or Permissive?

first off, kudos for the OP for starting up this thread. It's been an interesting read on a boring afternoon at the office (took me over an hour). My 2 cts on the issue: The GM provides the setting, the story and the NPCs, and any in character decision by a player goes. You never know what...

Are you happy with your current game/edition?

Quite happy with D&D 3.5 edition, which we've been playing for the past 10 years or so. But it isn't perfect, and I personally wouldn't mind switching to say Pathfinder or 5e if that turns out really good. I just can't imagine my group switching to another system. Almost everybody in our...

Have you ever been a dick player?

I did play a chaotic neutral rogueish character in a d20 future campaign once who was forced at gunpoint by his fellow partymembers to take a specific stance completely against his personal views. My character shot the specific partymember who put the gun to his head in the back at the end of...

Character Generation - Stat Draft Method

That's pretty sweet actually, might implement that when I start GM-ing again.

    What do Medusababies eat?

greek mythology and 2nd edition D&D seem to agree that medusae eat human flesh, interesting indeed.

    What do Medusababies eat?

That's exactly what I just found, Dragon magazine 106 has "the ecology of the maedar" in it, I guess that was 2nd edition.

    What do Medusababies eat?

flesh to stone ability only manifests in their adolescence, so we have to pickle it for 14 years first.

    What do Medusababies eat?

that would make a solid argument for not taking it with us, we're you joking or is this generally accepted lore?

    What do Medusababies eat?

the debate is only partly nature vs nurture. It's mostly: how are we going to stay alive in undermountain with a screeming baby in our backpack. It kind of attracks all sorts of unwanted attention. I think we're doomed if we take it along.

    What do Medusababies eat?

haha, the discussion still is to either kill it, abandon it, or take it with us. If we do the last thing, we have to feed it (even though my character is more in favor of the kill or abandon options). That evil little head won't get near to my character's breasts though... I like the idea...

    What do Medusababies eat?

Hi all, first post, been a lurker for a while. The thing is: Our party (D&D 3.5e, forgotten realms) found a Medusa-baby in Undermountain. After a long (and still ongoing) discussion one of the party members decided he wanted to take it with us. What do those things eat?
