I liked the Bryce/Keiko story. It showed that sometimes we don't understand everything about the flashforwards. It sounds like Keiko knew they'd meet in LA, even if Bryce didn't.
The Mark/Aaron/Tracy story is a setup for further developments, but didn't do much on it's own.
They're being a bit misleading. The Senator probably saw something that will lead to her being president - ie, the current president will have to resign. Alternately, maybe he has resigned and it's like you said.
We don't know what's up with Dmitri's lack of vision. Maybe he's blind, maybe...
In tv and the movies, they always need to establish who is who, and it's extra critical in a pilot, when we don't know all of the characters yet.
In most war movies, the protagonist is the only one without a helmet. ;)
In the show, it's fun to hate Eric. The books are written in the first person (Sookie's point of view), and the hatred of Eric isn't something to wink at, it's real.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I felt that the books made Eric less likable than the TV show does.
Once I let go of the differences and watched the show on it's own merit, I started liking it a lot more.
Agreed.
Once again, Jason stole the show. His speculations about Sam were priceless, and I loved the shout out to World War Z.
It wasn't the best episode ever, but it was fun.
we thought that it was weak and poorly executed. It was nice to see some characters move on (Joy and Reggie specifically).
The plot with new management was the weak spot.
Note that the shaman can be affected by hindering movement spells, so if the shaman was hit by such a spell, the spirit companion would be similarly affected since it derives it's max movement from the shaman.
The South African accent was a bit hard to track, especially when it's an unfamiliar name. I noticed that Wikus' name was pronounced slightly differently by different characters, too.
I loved the film - anything that gives me food for thought is a good thing.
