    D&D 3E/3.5 The DMG: A CRITICAL HIT at 93.5%!

It's not a rating out of 1000, you get 5 choices. Statistically, 20% of all RPG books you read should get a 5. Logically, you're only going to read stuff you tend to enjoy, so that will go up, especially if one isn't a collector and only buys games with intent to play. The rating for 5 is...

    13th Age Core Book

3 out of 5 rating for 13th Age Core Book 4e-style codification of abilities with indie game narrative elements is an interesting mix, but not really my cup of tea. Nice book and a few interesting ideas that can be stolen and imported into other games.

    Legacy of the Crystal Shard

4 out of 5 rating for Legacy of the Crystal Shard I don't use a lot of published adventures, but I do like setting info, and I bought this to read while setting up my FR Silver Marches game. I really wish more published adventures were set up like this, good stuff.

    Roll20

5 out of 5 rating for Roll20 Many of the players in my original group have moved away and playing online is the only option to keep the band together. After trying a few different options, Roll20 came out on top. There were some hiccups in the early days, but games run really slick these...

    Hero Lab

4 out of 5 rating for Hero Lab Very useful char gen program, especially considering the different systems it encompasses. Also quite useful at the table as a combat tracker. UI is functional, but could use an upgrade, as does the pdf creator (sheets don't always print out the way I like).

    Fantasy Grounds

3 out of 5 rating for Fantasy Grounds Tough to find room on the screen for everything the software offers and game prep to take advantage of the perks of the system is very time consuming.

    D&D 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide

5 out of 5 rating for D&D 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide Excellent art, great advice and interesting possibilities for a campaign.

D&D 5E How Often Do You Have NPCs Join the Party?

Almost never, I have enough to deal with as DM with hogging the spotlight further by having an NPC around all the time. Once in a while, though, the players insist and I don't have a good enough reason not to. But it's always a very temporary thing.

    D&D 5E A noteworty gripe for 5e

I was going to post this, myself. But don't forget where we are. On the internet, righteous indignation flows like water. :)

D&D 5E DEX Save, if Grabbed

This is definitely a rule where you'll get more than one opinion. You can steadfastly keep to the RAW (say, if you're running AL, or just like sticking to RAW, as a rule), or come up with something that makes sense. Personally, I think I can come up with an explanation as to what happens in...

D&D 5E Does anybody else wish that WOTC would release paper pawns, similar to Paizo?

This is truth. No one's holding a gun to your head to run d20 with minis. You might prefer to eat a bullet than run a game without them, but, no, certainly not "required". :D

    D&D 5E Concentration if GRABBED

When he is grabbed, he likely took damage, so yes, as usual. If he was somehow grabbed without taking damage or being physically jostled, then no. Yes. All the grabbed condition does is stop you from moving.

D&D 5E Perception checks, searching a room, listening at a door, etc etc

By level 10? I think my LG PC had a Spot of +21 by level 4. So I get what you mean, but I see this a feature of 5e. No one is completely useless in a given situation, as no one is perfect. But it's still smart to play the percentages and send the rouge with his expertise to scout the goblin...

D&D 5E Perception checks, searching a room, listening at a door, etc etc

I don't find this, at all. DCs are now flatter, so having +4 or +5 now is like +10 or +12 in 3e. Our group's rogue is an excellent scout.

D&D 5E Does anybody else wish that WOTC would release paper pawns, similar to Paizo?

As for making your own, if you've ever seen the Paizo figures, they are made from a very think cardboard, pretty sturdy, and certainly not something you could replicate with a regular printer. But I still think just using Paizo's would work sufficiently.

D&D 5E Does anybody else wish that WOTC would release paper pawns, similar to Paizo?

Aside from the fact that Paizo can't make beholder or mind flayer flats, I'd think they should be quite compatible. Plus, WotC wouldn't be the ones to do this, it's more something more up GF9's alley.

D&D 5E My group is questioning everyone.

Yes, Dexter Morgan. Sorry, the reference was a tad vague. :) And to pick a nit, psychopathic, not psychotic (two very different things).

    D&D 5E I Don't Have the 5E DMG

When my DMG is shipped to me next week, I should start a thread called, "My DMG cost me CDN$26, how much was yours?" :p

I wonder if anyone has stated up an Otyugh Centipede? (yes, I went there, apologies)
