I wouldn't mind having the Next adventure packaging. I thought those were great. The only nit pick would be lack of maps. I loved the specific DM screen they came with.

Yeah i stopped buying books from Amazon for the reasons mentioned up thread.

I got an email as well. My issue, which was self inflicted, is i assumed my card on file had expired. My debit card just recently expired and I got a new one. So I immediately reordered the PHB. I did reply asking if it was possible to carry my discount over to the DMG bundle.

We have our game session scheduled for this coming weekend (not the current weekend) and we will officially give it a spin. I will have a couple of characters upgrading to 2024 versions and a couple sticking with 2014. I'm excited about it.

Yeah with the more recent releases they have been putting them on bigger bases with a ring etched on the base of the actual in game size. They did this for stability.

I have the book, you're not going to convince me it's 6e. 5e24 is just as fast to type out.

After getting the rule book and going through it I'm still confused on how people push this into a "new edition".

Our next session in a couple weeks we will be using a mix of characters. My wife definitely wants to update her sorcerer. My daughters will also want to update their druid and monk. The fighters might stay the same.

I've never had any issues with monsters in 5e. I've never had a TPK, had some close calls but never a TPK. 4e definitely had the easiest encounter building but running the combats was a drag.

It's growing on me. I was surprised that the Beyond character sheets are still the same as the 2014 versions. Not complaining just surprised.

We are in the last couple of chapters in Shattered Obelisk and I plan to move directly into Vecna. The players don't know it yet but the mysterious deity they have been talking with on and off is Vecna. I did this so there would be better connective tissue.

You don't feel the new books are a refresh? I've only been able to look through it briefly but from what I saw its still 5e. Do you wish it had just been a reorganization with new art? Or do you wish it had been more changes? Just to add, I love your videos.

5e is 10 years old. At what point should a company (big or small) give their books a refresh?

This looks cool. I wouldn't say this is irrefutable evidence that this is a new edition since we never really got a proper FR campaign setting book in 5e14.
