D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

Perhaps they should have had a section in the monster manual exploring Drow culture if only for the reason that the Drider makes no sense now as a monster inclusion. Just a small blurb about Dark Elf culture in Dragon Lance, Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk worlds.

D&D (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

I can make the exact same argument for a lycanthrope. Even then there is no such thing as complete immunity. Martials can get silver or magic weapons so your comparison falls flat.

D&D (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

So you think that the Rajshahi is unfair to casters then? Should it lose its heightened magic resistance?

D&D (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

Wow! I didn’t even notice that. That is ridiculously overpowered! So my barbarian can shrug off a massive giant’s club or a Dragon’s bite but a wimpy monk yell “Wah-Pow!” and cuts right through my defenses? Thx for nothing WOTC.

D&D (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

I really dislike the loss of immunity to non silvered or magic weapons. I would at least give them resistance. It seems like the monk and warlock abilities to do magic damage are now class ribbons instead of useful abilities.

D&D 5E Question for folks who use D&D Beyond: How well does it work with the new rules?

I must say as a DM, D&D Beyond is amazing. I use the maps and tokens to play with friends over the internet. Encounter build is a huge time saver whether playing in person or online. It would be perfect if you could have your campaign notes linked in a format like World Anvil. Even the dice...

D&D 5E Question for folks who use D&D Beyond: How well does it work with the new rules?

It works great. There was a hiccup for the new PHB rules that lasted about a week. I prefer running in D&D Beyond with the maps update.

Dungeons & Dragons Teases New Campaign Settings

I could care less if Ebberon was ever mentioned again. Some of the Forgotten Realms subclasses look interesting.

2025 Monster Manual to Introduce Male Versions of Hags, Medusas, and Dryads

Yes, in Roman mythology Medusa is a human cursed because she had involuntary sex with Neptune in Athena’s temple. In the Greek tales she is one of three sisters born of supernatural parents. Her sisters were immortal, Medusa was not. The Pegasus was born from Medusa’s death and was ridden by...

2025 Monster Manual to Introduce Male Versions of Hags, Medusas, and Dryads

That depends on the myth interpretation. In the Greek myths she was a gorgon and not cursed. In the Roman myths she was. Interesting that you note the Greek myths and then blame the Greek gods for the creation of Pegasus when Pegasus was born from the death of Medusa and has nothing to do with...

2025 Monster Manual to Introduce Male Versions of Hags, Medusas, and Dryads

Perhaps because the original monster was a female cursed by her goddess for being unfaithful, the monster was unique and no thought was given to procreation. It’s not that difficult.

Conan The Hyborian Age RPG by Monolith Preview

The flex die is a second die that can provide a benefit if the maximum of that die is rolled. No bonuses are added to a flex die. A flex die can allow the user to regains stamina point, succeed on a failed roll or cause a critical hit in attack rolls.

2025 Monster Manual to Introduce Male Versions of Hags, Medusas, and Dryads

I think it’s silly but it’s not a big deal. Not every creature needs to be represented by their sex or have a sex at all. For example, there does not need to be male, female or hermaphrodite elementals.

So Much Art From the 2025 Monster Manual

Well then you are playing the succubus/incubus wrong. They are supposed to inspire naughty thoughts.

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

Your argument would make more sense if other D&D leadership was included warts and all. Is there a section on Lorraine Williams and her disastrous tenure as owner of TSR?

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

Yes but what purpose does it serve? Obviously it was not so offensive to you that you did not quit the hobby. I just am not interested in buying a history of the game I love to read about Ben going out of his way to trash it. Don’t elaborate on the positives Ben. Just talk about how enlightened...

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

That depends on the context Morris. If your reason for bringing it up is to virtue signal how wonderful D&D is now compared to its start I am not buying it. Especially as Hasbro has fumbled the ball repeatedly with firing staff, giving their departing CEo unearned severance packages, using AI...

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

I don’t know why this virtue signaling needs to be raised from the dead so much. It’s fantasy and most fantasy has tropes. If you read fantasy by Bob TSR authors there is a lot of this present and there are A LOT more women devoted to fantasy reading than men. I never had an issue with the...

D&D General Alternate Alignment Axis Ideas

I don’t like any of these ideas. I think the old alignment systems works well enough. Just give guidelines for flexibility and grade on a curve. Alignment shouldn’t be a gotcha but people have guidelines in real life and most people would not associate with a hobo murderer who cannot keep their...
