A Red and Pleasant Land: The good, the bad and the interesting

I bought a hard copy from the LotFP website, it's intelligently written and a good source of inspiration. I'm not sure I fully understood the mirror universe concept but I'm thinking of combining it with a Slumbering Ursine Dunes campaign...The reading's on hold for the moment until I finish the...

BESTIARY 5, ULTIMATE INTRIGUE, And More Coming For PATHFINDER!

I adore bestiaries, a good one is like a hundred plot devices (or episodes of Supernatural) in one book, mix them with something like Green Ronin's advanced Bestiary or Rite's Book of Monster Templates (that I've just (re)discovered on Lulu) and I'm a happy dread bunny....

Evolution in a World of Fantasy

There was an article in Imagine magazine (?) once with spell lists for "Evolutionary Wizards"; spells to splice, mutate & evolve creatures if I remember correctly - 2nd Ed. D&D, always wanted to use it but never found the right character or scenario....

What Paragon-Tier modules can I use to showcase the Underdark?

I'm running this module P2 at present and can't praise highly enough Myrhdraak's supplementary material, whilst I used much of the module as written I felt Myrhdraak especially helped me expand the Underdark voyage giving more optional encounters & capacity to fine tune the existing challenge...

D&D 5E Light release schedule: More harm than good?

I like books, there's almost always something, an idea, creature, trap or locale, to use somewhere, somehow. The only time you can be sure you wont find something you might want to use... is when the book isn't....

Building a Better Bard - Some examples of non-musical bards for character builds

In my collection of as yet unused 4E characters a Professional Mourner bard gathers dust, in some cultures people may be paid to lament the dead, in this case he's a sort of (somber) musical undertaker with strong religious and dislike for undead themes....Another is a Minotaur regimental...

    Module suggestions

The one page dungeon compilations? Several years worth now and should be something for all tastes within, could be combined to make an individualised campaign as well?

    D&D 4E 4e DM Cheat Sheet

Very nice, thanks - this will fit nicely into my French DM screen bought yesterday off a brocante market for a euro!

    Called shots

Originally written by Steve Cook, you rolled randomly for location or opted for a -3DM for an aimed shot - which allowed a general but not specific area to be targeted, damage multipliers were then applied based on location and weapon type - made for some short but memorable combats!!

    Called shots

I quite liked the Traveller hit location system in White Dwarf 28, no one walks away after rolling "shot in the groin" on those charts...

End of the [Fantasy] World: Pestilence

I've always thought disease makes a good "force multiplier" for weak creatures such as mites or goblins, especially if there's a vector or two involved such as rats, mosquitoes or tsetse flies etc. & the goblins themselves are resistant or immune, nothing says keep out better than plague...it...

    D&D 4E best 4e adventures?

Glad some one mentioned "Courts of the Shadow Fey" if only 4th edition had attracted more third party modules of this quality - Lost City is worth a mention here too...
