Pathfinder 1E D & D and/or Pathfinder, the effects of selective spell exclusions

This does not sound like a game where the DM moderates the story the players want to tell, instead they play a part in the DM's story. Not for me.

Actually, that would kinda stink to play a wizard.

Druidic wildshape (and the various polymorph-type spells) would become one of the better modes of transit.

Pathfinder 1E D & D and/or Pathfinder, the effects of selective spell exclusions

There will be problems when the DM is not well versed and proficient in spell combat. I can say this confidently... in no game I have been in for over 30 years, there has not been a player or DM more competent in spell combat, arcane or divine. As DM, no player has been able to catch me off...

Pathfinder 1E D & D and/or Pathfinder, the effects of selective spell exclusions

The sorcerer bloodlines are great, they give sorcerer characters the opportunity to be unique. They are definitely not attracted to guilds, and often seek to emulate their blood relatives. My sorcerer is rakshasa bloodline. While he is a cooperative and productive member of the group, his...

Pathfinder 1E D & D and/or Pathfinder, the effects of selective spell exclusions

While I have never outright banned Teleport or other spells, I have put impediments in front of casters such as a Dimensional Lock or an Anti-Magic Bubble or zone around a city or other location.

Pathfinder 1E D & D and/or Pathfinder, the effects of selective spell exclusions

In the major town I use (Constantinople, copied from Dark Ages), there are multiple magic guilds that only sell the good stuff to members and allies.

    Pathfinder 1E Mythic Adventures. Huh?

I am playing a druid, and there is a lot for the wild shaping beast to select from. However I agree with some of the previous comments. Mythic will be a one shot campaign for us, never to be tried again. But we may allow some of the feats, powered down as needed.

Pathfinder 1E Class abilities: how do you balance them?

Absolutely correct. But more important than balance is flavor, don't let the desire for balance ruin the potential for a great campaign. That in my opinion, is where fourth and fifth editions went wrong.

    Pathfinder 1E Mythic Adventures. Huh?

You will need to create them for yourself. Having read through mythic, in my opinion it is too much power-creep. Back in 3.5ed we created core class levels all the way up to 30th. We considered 21-30 to be demigod levels (including elemental and outer planes), 31-40 to be minor deities, and 41+...

    Pathfinder 1E Mythic Adventures. Huh?

Thanks Keldin. I like to plan out my characters to 20th level... even when starting out at first. We just cleared out the Baphomet mongrelmen base in Wrath of the Righteous and hit third level. My svirfneblin druid (neutral) will probably pick the Hierophant path when that option arises.

    Pathfinder 1E Mythic Adventures. Huh?

Added link Yeah, this is an old thread I am resurrecting... I get how mythic tiers work, they are basically levels in a mythic path that are apart from standard levels. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/mythic But how does a character acquire mythic feats? Is it one feat per tier? And what is a "mythic...

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

As someone who still plays four character concepts created in the early 80s and had gone from AD&D, 2e, 3e, 3.5e to Pathfinder, you are correct about the game being much better if you like your characters! I tried 4e, and despite it being a completely different game I enjoyed the experience...

    Pathfinder 1E Evil Character Questions.

There are two sides to playing an evil character (two extreme cases given)... one as a greedy, self-centered, power-hungry person who will cooperate with others to meet their objectives, and the other is as a hate-filled monster who doesn't cooperate well with others. I like playing the first...

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

I had played 3.5e quite a bit. Tried 4e but did not like it, so I returned to 3.5e. Tried 5e, and to quote myself... "they killed the magic both literally and figuratively." But instead of the unsupported 3.5e, we went to updated pathfinder and love it. Typically I like playing spell casters...

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

I'm not a rules crunch type, but 5e was way to oversimplified and shallow. Some players did find ways to break the system, but they were one dimensional characters who were boring to game with. The backgrounds were a nice but feeble way to entice role playing. But it was astroturf, it was less...

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

You hit on two of three of our cardinal rules... 1) Be cooperative 2) Be interesting 3) Be effective

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

My first experience with Pathfinder came during organized play, and that really turned me off to it. Character interaction was minimal, and there was no interaction with the setting. everything was rushed and too mechanical. And there were too many rules lawyers playing. Pathfinder has kept the...

    Pathfinder 1E Channel energy houseruling

We allow each burst of positive energy do all it is capable of: - Heal allies. - Harm undead. - Harm infernals (if the cleric has the alignment channel ability).
