Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

So your clerics can never reach 20th level? How many levels of Warlocks do you force them to take?

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

It's really not a good look for any god, to allow its clerics to become warlocks.

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

Because Asmodeous already has your soul, so you have nothing to barter with. Second, do you really think it would be smart to try and make a side deal while worshipping Asmodeous? His high priests may serve as a special kind of devil when they die for reward for loyalty. You make a side deal...

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

Because a curse isn't a pact, and an entity would have no reason to give power to someone bargaining at a disadvantage. Also using the example of fiends, they can't force someone down the path of damnation, they have to be willing participants. A fiend's job is to try and get you to ruin your...

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

The first part is, no. It's kind of like telling your girlfriend to have sex with your employee knowing it gives no benefit for you. The second part is impossible, you can't accidentally make a pact to be a warlock. You have to have full knowledge in what you are doing, but that doesn't mean...

Fluff, Rules, and the Cleric/Warlock Multiclass (WITH POLL!)

I don't like the idea of a cleric/warlock multiclass for the same reason I dont like the Paladin/warlock multiclass. The devotion a cleric gives to their god(or oath in the paladin's case), will not allow them to serve 2 masters. Also one thing that people don't consider is the mental state of...

    Distract drop invisibility?

Anything that does damage, or causes a character to make a saving throw causes invisibility to end. That's in the rules.

    Distract drop invisibility?

As a DM that would be my judgement call.

[Homebrew] Warlock Patron: The Bestower(Magical Girl Inspired Archtype)(Reworked Hexblade)

Is the idea to make a class for you personally or to make a class for everyone else? I ask this because you have some very specific ideas on how this should be played and making a lot of assumptions. Someone else may want to pay it vastly different than you. I have a few ideas. 1. Martial...

    Distract drop invisibility?

The question is, what is the character actually doing to distract the monster? Anything that has to do with touching ends invisibility.

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

Ok so out of the more of the story and back to game terms, choosing an oath at lvl 3 instead of 1 is designed so that you can get a feel of the character before making a final decision. In story terms, the game assumes this is what you've been training to become all your life. This really...

Because layolty don't exist with these people right? Lol

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

The problem with the class is, sure it is written that they can follow an oath, but a god, except they get their powers from a god, and every notable paladin ever listed always say "Paladin of (insert God's name)," not a Paladin of an oath. Which is pretty dumb.

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

So the Player's Handbook is setting neutral, so that if they decide to put out settings like Eberron which I hear is different from the other D&D settings, they wouldn't have to put out a new PHB for that. However, FR seems to be the only setting they are working on, and this how it works...

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

I've never played Eberron so I don't speak about that. Here is a really good video I recently watched. Since 5th edition doesn't talk about the gods much, most of his information comes from the earlier editions. https://youtu.be/BKFMOmgj3GU

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

And I've addressed that. But clerics and Paladins are different since they get their powers from 1 god only. While clerics and Paladins acknowledge other deities, they only worship the one they serve. A normal person pays homage to whichever god is pertinent to their situation. For example, a...

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

It is. This is how the gods work in D&D in general, with the exception of Dark Sun and Ravenloft campaign settings where the gods don't exist.

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

There's a difference between wavering and betraying. A good diety mat have compassion and allow you transition if your faith waivers, and evil one may have you killed, claim your soul and torture you for all eternity. Betraying your power, the punishment would be worse. I've always looked...

Paladin / Warlock Faith conflict query

Did you read my first sentence, because that clearly answers your question. I have a question, does anyone here read the D&D books? Because a lot of insight on how the gods act and feel are in those books. I think 5th edition purposely left out the consequences of being a servant of a divine...
