An examination of the cost of magic.

As I mentioned above, he decided that he would be a blaster. He changed his mind around level 7 to try to become a more versatile caster. Most of his lv1-3 spells are your various damaging spells, with the addition of Fly, Identify, and Mage Armor. His lv4-6 spells were all defensive or...

    Question on Medieval Succession rules

My list was merely a descending list of nobility, to show why a Baron would not inherit a duchy without something extreme happening. Knights, no matter their stock, were always of higher station than peasants and serfs. There were many orders of Knights that were higher or lower station than...

An examination of the cost of magic.

Greenfield I did not remove access to Scribe Scroll, and the Cleric used it to great effect after about level 3, once he was able to pick it up. The Wizard was more comfortable playing cautiously, channeling his AD&D experience as a Wizard and using a magic sling that they found at level 2...

An examination of the cost of magic.

This post serves to share the observations I've made in my latest campaign, the details of which are; D&D 3.x, all source books available for use, must use the most recent errata or version of any text, all discrepancies decided by the DM at the table (no arguing during the game), if you didn't...

D&D 5E What Should the Maximum Level Be?

I fail to see why a cap is necessary, as it will surely be tossed out the window by anyone approaching that level of game play. Players and DMs don't like to be restricted in how much power they can obtain or use.

Why doesn't the Draconic Aura feat get more attention?

The bottom right starts the "Aura Effects" list. Under the "Dragon Shaman" entry, it specifically states that Dragon Shaman can learn any of the auras presented on Pg. 87 instead of the ones presented in the PHB2, but it makes no mention of the feat being able to select Dragon Shaman specific auras.

    D&D 5E Creating A Character

If you're trying to show us a character build/idea, Myth Weavers has a great form for just that.

Why doesn't the Draconic Aura feat get more attention?

ImperatorK I had thought that the wording of Draconic Aura suggested that only the auras noted on page 86 of Dragon Magic could be chosen.

Why doesn't the Draconic Aura feat get more attention?

RUMBLETiGER I may be unaware of a variety of Dragon Auras. I had assumed they were only in Dragon Magic, but it does not have a "Vigor" aura. Where are other auras published?

Why doesn't the Draconic Aura feat get more attention?

Perhaps. There are a variety of other methods to acquire a Climb speed which don't require feats (which are a limited resource, of course), and Initiative and counter checks only really become super important at epic levels.

Why doesn't the Draconic Aura feat get more attention?

Most builds are very meticulously planned, feat wise, for maximizing effectiveness. There is rarely enough room to spare a feat for a small bonus to a non primary function of a build.

    Question on Medieval Succession rules

In medieval England, a new Duke would be appointed by the Crown, most usually chosen from a Marquis or Earl. See, titles are granted by the Crown. When a titled person dies, the title returns to the Crown. Most frequently (but not always) the title is inherited to the surviving eldest son...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Weapon Size question for 3.5

harikus The flavor text of spells is just that - flavor. The spell conjures a large weapon that you can wield at no penalty, and deals 2d6 damage. That is all.

    D&D 5E Fixing the Fighter

This is the reason for my link, the errata makes some clarification. Obryn I'm very confused. I can understand a caster being limited in his ability to summon the forces that bind the universe together, or channel divine energy from their Gods. I'm a pugilist, myself, and aside from being...

    D&D 5E Fixing the Fighter

Obryn You're asking for Called Shots to be re-implemented again, effectively making every turn "I target the head." This doesn't increase options, it effectively reduces them. You may ask "How?" Fighter A has five options available to him. Attack (deal damage), Trip (deal damage, make...
