ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

I knew I'd abandoned this thread, but I didn't realize I never even posted an account of Rock Rackus and the Ruby Rod of R'lyeh! Dang. I'm pretty sure I wrote one, so I'll dig it up and add it to this thread. We're still going, although we had a few major slowdowns over the years with people...

    We Finally Finished!

Congrats on doing the conversion and on finishing your run! My group is finally on Schism after 5+ years so I think we're going to take a bit longer than you did.

    Likability of Rock Rackus

Awesome! My players were intrigued by Rock, and made some effort to convince him to be a force for good after talking to him in prison. They weren't sure if they'd succeeded until I assumed the role of Rock in one of our sessions and sang this little tune... (lyrics here) Later, during a...

    ZEITGEIST BSI: Bosum Strand Irregulars

Your group has passed mine! Yet another thread I can mine for nefarious purposes. :D Very interesting reading. My group is about to do the Pardwight scene - my thread is a little behind. We'll see how it goes!

What will happen to 4th edition?

I must spread some XP around before XPing you again, so I'll just say: pretty much this. It amazes me how they managed to take such a clean rules framework and build such a fiddly game around it. It could have been spectacular.

ZEITGEIST Brainstorming for ZEITGEIST 5th edition

Using the MM3 Lolth who automatically dominates everyone who hits her? I'm surprised it was such a cakewalk -- MM3 and newer, even tougher solos are what I was thinking of in terms of creating set piece "boss battles" in 4E epic tier. Sadly Quinn Murphy's At-Will blog has disappeared from the...

ZEITGEIST Brainstorming for ZEITGEIST 5th edition

I'll say this as well: I think from a monster/encounter design perspective, 4E at epic tier offers a lot of, well, epicness. Most published adventures don't take advantage of it, but RangerWickett and all of the adventure authors so far have shown a willingness to design crazy setpiece battles...

    Dying Skyseer: Smuggling/Chryssilir confiscation?

Both ships were impounded in my game, and Risur kept the Grifoni, since it was an unlicensed/unsanctioned vessel. It actually became the PCs' ship, which they thought was fitting since they were very pleased with themselves for having captured it from a ship that had no guns (the Impossible).

Starting up Always On Time: Initial Questions

I didn't tell my players the required number of successes, I just framed the problem for them and then explained that their goal was to accumulate successes in each category. They made their own judgments about which ones they thought were successes based on how I described what happened, and I...

ZEITGEIST Brainstorming for ZEITGEIST 5th edition

Personally, I'd much rather finish the campaign with a mature system than do an edition switch to a very new system partway through. Even a new system that was playtested as extensively as 5E has been. That said, I'll probably be asking my players if they want a switch by the time we get to...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

So my players and I backed the Act One compilation Kickstarter at the @RangerWickett runs a game for you at GenCon" level. That was actually the reason we went to GenCon, although since we were there we did do some other stuff (True Dungeon, and I played in the Netrunner US national...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Okay, so a LOT has happened since I last posted. We did finish Always on Time before GenCon, and RangerWickett ran an awesome adventure for us that I'll cover in my next post, along with pictures! We left off as our erstwhile constables -- Viveen, Reginald, Murdok, Bela, and Vesta -- were...

Update from the Risuri front! [Adventure Path Update]

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Most of the party had the presence of mind to look out the window and see the purple glow up ahead. Vesta quickly deduced that they had been translocated to the plane of ruin, Nem. He and Bela were in second class cabins shared with others, so they quickly talked to their cabinmates about what...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

So in talking to my players, they were very, very close to intervening at the arena. If I'd had Andrei beg them for help while hanging from their balcony, instead of being busy batting at the flames, it probably would have pushed them over. But I didn't, and they didn't! So here we are. Vesta...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Damata took the opportunity to hack at the unconscious Sylvester with his axe, saving the party the need to decide whether to kill him or not. After a quick survey of the cave and the dead Family goons, they made an exit. Viveen asked Damata how it felt to swing an axe, and he replied that this...

The entire party went along with Damata, and even attempted to negotiate with Sylvester, but to no avail. They put the Family goons in the dirt pretty quickly, though. We'll be continuing on Thursday with Sylvester unconscious and potentially available for interrogation.

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

I've been remiss in my updates! Viveen revived Bela, and the group quickly got Rodinn restrained to await the arrival of train guards. Since he was helpless, Bela took the opportunity to interrogate him with Rending Fear of Khirad, a power that compels truthful answers from helpless enemies...

ZEITGEIST The Flint Irregulars, whose portraits you may have seen

Well, that was interesting. Viveen, Murdok, Vesta, and Reginald engaged the screaming malice and malice spawn, with Cardiff and guards supporting. Meanwhile, Bela closed the door to car 6 as the bandits battled Mr Mapple inside, and used his carbine to jam it shut. That left him alone with the...
