D&D 5E Optional Rule: Subclass Gestalt

I don't see any way this would be acceptable. Not for balance of power, not for role-playing, nothing.

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

I thought the original version of the spell was a joke, and not in a good way.

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

So it wasn't an April Fools joke. [emoji6]

D&D 3E/3.5 What D&D 3e/3.5e classes do you wish had become core in later editions?

The Warblade, Crusader and Swordsage were corrected versions of the Fighter, Paladin and Monk, respectively. 5e doesn't need corrected versions of those classes.

D&D 3E/3.5 What D&D 3e/3.5e classes do you wish had become core in later editions?

Just the Marshal, and even then I'm not gung-ho about it. The rest of them, good riddance. 5e can handle all of them conceptually with subclasses.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

    1. That 14 points can be split between allies, making it more versatile and generally useful. 2. Cure Wounds takes an action. Healing Spirit is still a bonus action, making it still a lot more useful in combat. 3. Upscale both spells to a 3rd-level slot, Cure Wounds heals 3d8+3 (16.5), while...

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

And other than the Druid, only the Ranger was healing 10d6 to each character with a 2nd-level slot. You can go on and on about all that other stuff, but only those two classes were healing to nearly that much effect with a 2nd-level slot. Even Prayer of Healing, explicitly designed to be the...

    D&D 5E Ranking 1st level spells

Where do you rank Charm Person, by the way? Didn't see it anywhere.

    D&D 5E Ranking 1st level spells

Yeah A is fine. Since you'll only do it against a boss.

    D&D 5E Ranking 1st level spells

I just think Wrathful Smite's rewards are much greater than its risks, especially in a boss battle. Also, if you're playing with feats (as most tables do IMX), Paladins can get their CON saves higher than anyone. Resilient (CON) and the Aura often results in auto-saving vs. DC 10 and pretty...

Problem with Bane is that you'll never cast it over Bless if you have a choice.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

They get Lesser Restoration at 2nd level, as well. There's your status effect removal right there. 3rd level: Conjure Animals. You don't need anything else. 4th level: Guardian of Nature, Freedom of Movement 5th level: Conjure Volley, Swift Quiver, Wrath of Nature All good spells. You know...

    D&D 5E Ranking 1st level spells

I wouldn't put Divine Favor at B-tier, but C is fine. It's useful in enough common-types of battles to not be "a bad time." And unlike Hex/Hunter's Mark, Divine Favor also doesn't require you to use a bonus action to switch targets after they die. And disadvantage on ability checks, which...

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

They have enough good spells at each spell level that they don't need to feel like they're just filling out a list when learning them. That's all that really matters.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

Amazing. I just gave you a list of Ranger spells that are actually good, and you want to say they don't have good spells. You are arguing in bad faith.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

Someone who could heal each party member 10d6 with one 2nd-level spell slot was in no way "one of the worst classes at healing." The damn spell was overpowered pre-errata. End of.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

Whatever the problem with Rangers in 5e, 2nd-level spells are not one of them. Rangers have the amazing Pass without Trace, as well as the very good Spike Growth, Silence and Lesser Restoration.

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Guide errata coming

A straight Hexblade is fine, but its Lv. 1 is way too much and is more multiclass-baity than anything else by far. Its benefits needed to be split up and pushed to higher levels. There's just way too many of those ridiculous Hexblade/Paladin/Sorcerer combinations out there.

D&D 5E Healing spirit has been updated?

A Healing Spirit cast with a 3rd-level slot is 6 targets for 7 each. Mass Healing Word is a native 3rd-level spell, which should be better than an upcast lower-level spell. Looks fine to me. EDIT: Upcasting each respective spell with a 4th-level slot: MHW = 10 each, HS = 10.5 each, so HS...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Guide errata coming

OK, but you had to do that to every other 5e D&D book so far, since they've all had some actual updates by your definition. So where's the beef now?
