VOTERS NEEDED: Halloween Monster Design Contest

Stalker in the Stalks You were never sure why grandmother warned against going to the edge of the cornfield at night. Especially since each night this week you had discovered pieces of the most delicious candy on the swing that dangled on the oak by the field's moonlit rows. You couldn't help...

4e: big change in essentials: no more daily powers!

At my table, we generally see Bo9S as "edition sabotage" -- its presented options were "too good to walk away from", and they instantly outdated similar options that came before it. Sure, a 3.5 fighter and a Bo9S whatever-blade could stand side-by-side and the rules supported them, but one was...

    "Conditional Tricks" Handout

Halloo, all. So, I'm coming up on the 8th game of my so-far-so-fun homebrew campaign and have learned a lot about regularly running the "new" D&D edition. One thing I've learned: I love the 'new" D&D edition. Etc, etc...I think we agree that the Powers That Be have created a Damn Good Thing...

    Fx Request: Compendium Tab Renamer?

Hi all, I'm new to this neck of the EN World Woods, so I'm not sure if my question is inappropriate for this forum. If so, sorry. Basically, my request is: Does anyone know of a userscript, userstyle, or extension that would allow Firefox to rename a tab automatically? I just started running a...

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

(Re: Skallgrim) Great stuff! That's about where I am with light. It's a really powerful tool for evoking feelings of danger and suspense, and a fun addition to combat. Makes Stealth actually mean something. I'm also surprised more people aren't employing it. I think the vague-ness of the system...

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

Say what now? A sunrod in a barrel still sheds light beyond the barrel? That's ridiculous. If physical barriers can't prevent magical light, then a sunrod is a poor choice of something to carry while exploring, well, any enemy lair with walls.

Resist damage vs. a multi-attack power

Yeah, that's the fundamental debate. Is twin slash dealing the damage as a power, or is it being dealt by the individual sword-strikes of that power? When all is said and done, the goliath was hit by a single twin slash, so...

"I tuck the sunrod in my belt".

Hi. Fun conversation-inspiration below (I hope): Since the olden days of OD&D light, PCs have shoved magical glowing objects into their belts to free up their mitts for heroing. Please confirm or refute, by answering the above poll, whether or not I'm a crazy person who just made that up. Now...

Resist damage vs. a multi-attack power

Hi all, I'm sure this has come up here thousands of times before, but I gotta ask: This minor rules-Q came up when a kobold slyblade's twin slash (one action for two attacks) struck a goliath with active stone's endurance: Does the damage resistance conferred by the power soak the damage as a...

    adventure template

Hey Quickleaf, I just want to shout out a quick thanks for the template. I'm putting together my first adventure of a brand new campaign, delving into the 4e method for it. I haven't DMed a big-deal campaign in years (last one was 3.0) and I'm looking forward to getting the hang o' the newish...
