D&D 5E What are you favourite 5e spells?

The spell's range is: Self (15-foot radius), and in the description it says they flit around you up to a distance of 15 feet. I don't see anything about this not being a sphere. The range says it's a radius which means 15 feet radiating out from the caster in all directions, pretty much a...

    D&D 5E Lets Rank the 5e Skills!

Athletics and Acrobatics do appear a bit undervalued in this thread. They are the primary skills used in grappling. The rules for grappling are fairly simple and not immensely over powered in 5e, with bounded accuracy in place. I hope to see them get used more in our game play, but it hasn't...

D&D 5E Pet peeve (eladrin thread)

Not particularly, but it sounds more like something Gandalf might put in a pipe...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

Okay, good! That means that YOU are CHOOSING to read the rules that way. Which is great for you and great for me too. The ready rules break out into a second paragraph that describe how readying a spell works, and the limitation appears to be concentration. I choose to read it as a specific...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

Requiring the caster to ready the spell every turn doesn't seem logical to me. They readied the spell by casting it (and expending a spell slot) with a clearly stated trigger, and now they must use their single concentration "slot" to hold the spell in a readied "reaction" state. The spell is...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

I am unable to find where, in the basic rules, that it specifies that a readied spell is lost if unused by your next turn... So far as I can tell, so long as you successfully concentrate on holding back the spell, it remains as a possible reaction for you to use. If this is called out in the...

D&D 5E No stat minima for spells?

Ugh... I need to read better... Nothing to see here...:D

    D&D 5E Against the Flumpfs

Florist Flumph - The Campaign of a Lifetime... Edit* D&D will never be the same once you've seen it through the eyes of Florist Flumph.

    D&D 5E Tiefling preview!

Oof, yes... The point I wanted to make was that they could have included at least two subrace variations, to showcase 5e's adaptability. :(

    D&D 5E Tiefling preview!

Practically 0% of the world has actually been to the moon, but those who have, used metric measurements to get there... Back on topic: I am also disappointed that there doesn't appear to be a subrace for the two different types of Tiefling. The Tiefling in particular had great potential...

D&D 5E Retraining (players, not characters)

So long as it is a reaction spell or a cantrip with 1 action casting time, you can cast another spell on the same round. The bonus spell rule clearly states "on the same turn." You can still cast a reaction spell triggered on someone else's turn.

D&D 5E Criticizing the new edition of D&D (because I like it a lot)

This does seem odd that a second level rogue can basically charge every round (using cunning action to dash as a bonus action), but the fighter can not...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

I don't think the fighter's superiority is so clear cut here. At 20th level a wizard also gains spell mastery. A good combination for mastery is shield and misty step... With shield the wizard has a reaction with no concentration requirement that gives a +5 to AC for the entire round, every...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

If weak saving throws improve by Proficiency Bonus minus 2, the math stays nicely flat, and only requires that you pump a weak save by +2 (or 3-4 ability points) to stay current by level 20, and thus maintain the same success ratio. If you pump a weak save to max 20 at level 20, you only end up...

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

I really can't wrap my head around this statement... How is a 3rd level spell not more powerful than a 1st level spell? Why have spell levels at all then?

    D&D 5E Weak Saving Throws

Honestly, I love the flatter math for saving throws. Spellcasting DC appears to be where the 5e system looks a bit awkward. Spell DC shouldn't use the proficiency bonus at all. Spellcasting already has a nifty built in feature that determines the potency of a spell--the level of the spell slot...

D&D 5E Has the old "ready to cast silence upon spellcasting" trick finally been stopped?

If you have readied your spell, it means you have already done the funky chicken dance to cast it, and you are simply using concentration to hold the spell in check. So far as I can tell, you are operating at the speed of thought when deciding to let the spell go ahead. This *should* be faster...

D&D 5E Minor Bug in Alt Character Sheet

They should not be connected. Additionally, history and insight skill modifier fields are also incorrectly connected. I was combining pieces from the alternate and regular character sheets when I noticed and fixed these mistakes in my combined version.

Yeah, I wasn't really happy with the analogy I had there, yours tastes more like pizza. Thanks :D
