Dead Man's Stomp is weird in that I really sweated how to run it - the players don't seem to have a ton of agency, a bunch of weird stuff happens randomly, and then things continue to progress in the background without them. I was terrified to run it, as I had no idea how to make it work...

Yeah I agree. Not sure why they didn't just hit that mark. I want it the art to exude being overwhelmed and oppressive, dismal, grim.

It's the same thing. I get the distaste it can trigger in some people - initially i was turned off by it - but I get it as a self-balancing mechanism. It's pretty neat and works well.
