    Frog God Games News!

Very cool. So, is the plan for Frog God to produce Pathfinder and S&W versions of the same products, or will the two lines be entirely different?

Steve Kenson's ICONS: Superpowered Roleplaying from Adamant Entertainment

Glad to see this character posted. We ran thru chargen in chat, and neither of the two players had seen the rules at all. Even with having to explain things it went pretty quickly. That reminds me of a question: If you are running a "pick-up" game of ICONS, where you are going to introduce the...

Steve Kenson's ICONS: Superpowered Roleplaying from Adamant Entertainment

I picked up the preorder, and have been thrilled with the game. I've rolled up plenty of characters, and ran a few test combat session with my sons. All Star (an original character, not the one from the book), the Telekinetic Tarantula and Bolt defeated the Red Kite, Fast Forward and some of the...

Any Big News New Games Around?

I'm loving this game. Already played a session with my sons. Random character generation makes for some interesting characters. If you have stayed away from supers games before because they are usually complicated, give Icons a try. It is only out in preorders now, but the PDF will be available...

    Now available: The Conqueror's Shadow

Available on Kindle too! This looks like a good book to take to the beach in April.

What Do Your Kids Think of D&D, and How Do You Handle It?

I play sporatically with the BlankBoys, ages 11, 9 and 7. We started about 4 years ago with the miniatures game and then the intro set for 3.0, and I've gone through a few rules variations looking for their sweet spot. We have settled on Castles & Crusades with a couple of house rules (healing...

    [Castles & Crusades] Who's Playing/Running?

I'm running a C&C game for my three sons, ages 11, 9 and 7. We are using module series that begins with Assault on Blacktooth Ridge, plus anything else I find and decide to throw in. We have a few minor tweaks, but the biggest house rule is healing surges. With such a small group none of them...

2 Years of Eric Noah + 8 Years of Morrus = 10 years of EN World!

Congrats, and thanks, to Eric, Morrus and everyone who has contributed to making this place (and CM) so great! Thanks to you I can honestly say that I've spent more time over the past 10 years reading and posting on gaming messageboards than I have actually gaming!

How easy is M&M/W&W to teach kids?

I've been playing various versions of D&D with my sons, now ages 7, 9 and 11, for a few years now, and they get it just fine. I've transitioned to a simpler system (Castles & Crusades) so that I have to answer fewer games mechanics questions during the game, but they have managed the basics of...

What flavor of 'Old School' do you like?

I play in an OD&D campaign, but I've been forever looking for a system to run for my sons, now ages 7, 9 & 11. Recently I have settled on C&C. It is simple enough for me to run on the fly, without constantly consulting rule books, and yet provides just the right amount of crunch for us. To be...

    10 years of ENW

I remember finding this site when I first heard about 3e, and I started checking it almost daily. It took me a while to join, since I didn't have much to say, and I'm not the most prolific of posters, but I'll alway have fond memories of the site that brought me back to the world of RPGs. And...

    Fatherly Gaming Tales

I've been gaming with my sons since the earliest days of 3e. We started with the minis game, which worked great for teaching simple math, and BlankBoy1 (the oldest, now age 11) loved it. But BlankBoy2 (now 9) wanted actual role play, so I introduced them to the Basic Set for 3e, and moved on...

    Where is Diaglo?

There is an OD&D game at his house today, but I have to miss due to my sons' baseball activities. He has been less active everywhere he posts. I think work is keeping him busy.

4e and kids - Forked: With a subscription to DDi Character Builder, buying a PHB2

Wow, I had no idea there were that many of us out there. My sons are now ages 6, 8 and 10, and I started gaming with them about 3 years ago. I've posted about my attempts several times, once leading the response in my .sig from Col. Pladoh himself. We started with the minis game, and then...

    Whee, I'm 40! Any advice?

I'd give advice on being 40, but it looks like I only beat you there by 2 days. Give a little more time and I'll let you know how it feels. Has not really sunk in yet. I always say "You are only as old as you act."

EN World RPG Book Club for June

Sorry I missed this before, but I'm curious about Og. Anyone care to post adventure ideas, or your notes from a game you prepared?

Worst/Most Ridiculous Gaming Experience Within a Homebrew Campaign

Ah, the pre-teen gaming days. The worst was probably the strange maze where we were collecting little white balls that were evenly distrubuted every 10' or so, until we got chased by a big yellow orb with a huge mouth. Yep, we were stuck in a Pac-Man game.
