    D&D 5E druids don't get animal companions?

I thought the exact opposite--cast a spell once and gain range 100 feet on touch spells? Where's the downside? :p

D&D 5E Any authors you think should be in Appendix E but are not?

Bah! This is the INTERNET, what kind of example are you setting here, with civility and reason?! /ragequit

    D&D 5E Tiny flavor tweaks

In the RAW there's no way to have a Longsword + Short Sword two-weapon fighter without using the "optional" feat rules. Since my group isn't fond of feats, I'm ruling that the two-weapon fighting style selection allows for the use of a non-light weapon in the main hand, in addition to the...

    D&D 5E Polearm Master feat...where's my spear?

The Polearm Master feat (Phb pg 168) applies when using a quarterstaff, but not a spear? As DM for my group (consisting of my kids, ages 16 to 10), I'm house ruling this to allow spears. What possible explanation is there for this oversight?

D&D 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen w/ Starter/Basic Rules Only

I don't think they are built a 'full' pcs, but they clearly have some class features. One Longsword-wielding npc has prepared spells, a bonded weapon, and the "war magic" ability, e.g., an eldrich knight.

D&D 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen w/ Starter/Basic Rules Only

The npc's stats are listed in appendix B in the form of stat blocks--I'm not sure what your question is.

D&D 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen w/ Starter/Basic Rules Only

I was speaking as an owner of the module--with the basic rules PDF and the free supplemental download, it indeed my be played. No PHB or other books required. Which is awesome.

D&D 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen w/ Starter/Basic Rules Only

I think it's great that a DM can buy an adventure and run it without purchasing anything else! Excellent job, Wizards, I'm impressed.

D&D 5E grabbed the PHB at lunch - art is really great

The Halflings are disappointing, true; the one miss in the entire book, other than not enough cheesecake for my taste. :p

D&D 5E Chapters/Indigo and the death of the FLGS

An ignorant 'murican here, but is "Chapters" a large chain? If they broke the street date at more than one store I could imagine that might go poorly for them in the future!

D&D 5E Any authors you think should be in Appendix E but are not?

John C. Wright, for his Awake in the Night Land anthology set in William Hope Hodgson's Night Lands. Great stuff!

D&D 5E Lots Of Art (and some Warlock stuff)

Big fan of WAR's art, I think the Sword piece is excellent!

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

I'll make sure to have my players write OAF next to their item in their equipment list, to remind them it can be taken away! :)

Now I can make my Halfling Thief Noble! Thanks!

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

I rather like the lack of optimizing features, such as feats. How will it work when the PHB comes out if some players want to use feats, and some don't? Will adventures assume them?

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Has permission been given to have the rules printed, say at a Kinko's? I really like the simplicity and classic 'feel' of the rules, with the modern nuances of advantage, proficiency bonus, 'vancian-sort of' spell casting. I'm going to use the new rules with the components from my Pathfinder...

    Dice Roller App

I wrote and published a free Windows Phone 7 app (Warhammer Dice Master) to let those who prefer the less "fiddly" approach play using the WFRP Lite rules, and without needing a set of the custom dice. The app is available in the Marketplace from any Windows Phone device. Cheers!
