Doctor Who 2007: The Sound of Drums

This was a great episode. Lots of fun. Wasn't sure I was going to get on with Simm's Master at first, but once he I was sold. Excellent performance. I'm a tiny bit disappointed with the speed with which the gang escaped their predicament at the end of the last episode, but it got them in...

    Doctor Who 2007: Blink

She also played a lettuce in the BBC's excellent Bleak House a couple of years ago. She was a babe then, too. But really dumb.

    Doctor Who 2007: Blink

No-one's pointed out that Sally Sparrow is a babe. So I will. Sally Sparrow is a babe! Ow! That's hot!

Doctor Who 2007: The Family of Blood

I think he played the kid with the camera in one of the Harry Potter films (the second one?). Also, If I remember right he had a Malcolm in the Middle style series on UK kids tv. I thought they were setting him up for a larger role, too - what the the psychic powers and all - but then they...

    Transformers-The Movie

Yep. I went from cautiously looking forward to it (but secretly expecting it to be pants) to gagging for it with that trailer. It looks like it's gonna be loads of fun!

    Discworld

I would recommend just picking one with a cover that appeals to you and try reading it. They're all good and I don't think any of them are too heavy on continuity!

    [November] What are you reading?

Wintersmith by Pratchett. Pretty good so far, but not as good as Thud was.

The call goes out... Avengers Assemble...

I wonder if that was at the back of the minds of the guys who put together the Ultimates...?

Robin Hood 1x01 "Will You Tolerate This?"

I enjoyed it. There was lots of fun to be had, I thought the acting was pretty good (nothing special, but good enough) and all in all it was a nice bit of Saturday evening fluff. It's possible that they've mistaken Robin Hood for Hawkeye of Avengers fame or possibly Bullseye, though! Missed...

This Brit doesn't agree. I thought it was a load of old... er... rubbish.

    Symphonic metal - Nightwish

I just Wiki-ed Nightwish and came across some suggestions for Starman. Haven't listened to any of 'em myself, but I may give them a try: Also, thanks for the suggestions above, Nyaricus. I shall check 'em out later!

    Symphonic metal - Nightwish

Aye, I have their Century Child album, which rocks. It incluides their version of Phantom of the Opera, which is cool... particularly the funny Finnish way they say the word 'opera' - 'oh-pee-rah'. I fully intend to inflate my collection in the near future! I'd like to hear some other takes...

Doctor Who Season 29 - What do you want to see?

One more vote for the Master. I'm not too worried about how he escaped from the Tardis after the movie - it could just be an event that accoured in the past. It would be interesting to set up a meeting, perhaps at the season climax, by suggesting that the Doctor and the Master fought side by...

Joker Actor Named for Next Batman Movie

What acting ability did he demonstrate in Brokeback Mountain? All I recall is a bit of squinting and some gravel kicking... This was the most mind-numbingly dull movie I ever watched... and it WOULDN"T END! That said, I've seen him in a couple of other things and he's a good enough actor...

    Coolest Narnia (the movie) moment?

Oh, I did it just last week. Of course, I beat the lion in fairly short order. I can't help thinking that the best moment in the movie should have been the arrival of Aslan and his reinforcements at the battle. It should have had the same effect as Gandalf turning up at Helms Deep or Han Solo...

    New Superman Returns Pics!

I gotta raise this... If you have super strength on the scale that Supes does - which doesn't come from muscle development, but rather solar power (or whatever), surely you'd actually be quite a weedy, scrawny looking bloke as you'd rarely get to put any strain on your muscles.
