What are you reading [Jan 2017]?

So true, "I should read that one day" probably applies to half our bookshelves. Last year I finally read the Elric novels "Fortress of the Pearl" and "The Revenge of the Rose." I bought them back when they came out in '89 and '91. :D

What are you reading [Jan 2017]?

The Secret History of Twin Peaks did not go where I expected it to, but held my interest. It's a quasi-coffee table book though and therefore a quick read, but pretty much for the hard-core Peaks fan only. Having put that to rest, I'm still fighting mentally to get back to the 97 pound...

What are you reading [Jan 2017]?

Totally agree on all counts. Luckily they're all pretty short, easy to skim through the clunkers.

What are you reading [Jan 2017]?

Every 6 years or so I seem to go back and reread the Fafhrd and Grey Mouser books and the original Elric books, great reads. : I meant to quote MNBlocked head here in response to his post, but mucked it up :)

D&D 5E To Screen or not to Screen

I bought the WOTC screen when I first started to DM 5e, (16 months-ish ago) but find I don't refer to the charts on there much, may tape my own little bits onto it. With the landscape orientation it doesn't feel like there's too much separation between myself and the players. I make most rolls...

D&D 5E What do I tell players about my overly complex political world?

My friends an I use private Facebook groups for each of our campaigns. Generally a week before game time we'd put a bit of preamble about the upcoming session to get enough information out to avoid spending a lot of precious time going over too much back matter in-game. Session recaps are...

What are you reading [Jan 2017]?

Was reading the Annotated HPL up until about Christmas, but had to put it down to get something a little fresh in there, so now reading The Secret History of Twin Peaks as of last week. Will be a brisk read though, not a very dense tome.

D&D 5E Would you help me with tonight's game session?

Probably too late to reply, but you could consider keeping it separate, let them run through it, then upon leaving they encounter a group of the "savages" with a few hobgoblins who were coming to clean the joint out themselves for whatever reason. Nothing worse than having the "bad guys" thank...

That looks great, your players will be blown away and have fond memories of their Ravenloft sessions.

    D&D 5E MPMB's D&D 5e Character Tools

I just wanted to say "thanks" for all three of the documents you created. I downloaded them at Christmas and have been using the heck out of them since then. Great time-savers. :)

D&D 5E What happened to the Monster Menagerie storyline?

I saw a tweet from Mike Mearls yesterday that there will be a few Ravenloft figures as well apparently.

D&D 5E What happened to the Monster Menagerie storyline?

There's something about the term "gargantuan" treant that's pretty awesome. :) I've been waiting on that one as well.

D&D 5E What happened to the Monster Menagerie storyline?

There hasn't been any preview images of any of the figures have there? Seems a little odd to have seen nothing when they're due next month. Maybe the Strahd mix is in there (as noted above) and they didn't want to spoil anything.
