5e Homebrew Race Thread **Please Provide a Link to the Post**

http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?465786-5th-Edition-Warforged-Rework Here's my interpretation of the Warforged of Eberron. It's as complete as it's going to get, but as fair warning: it's intended for a more powerful setting, where things are rougher. It's a bit strong, but manageable.

How to Encourage Melee Combat in a Sci-fi Setting? (5e)

Then you're going to have to tie such a thing into the lore itself. A reason why these devices are still viable, and not just a McGuffin to explain their existence. Go the George Lucas route of tying the sword and similar weaponry into tradition. Aside from that, I can't make too many...

How to Encourage Melee Combat in a Sci-fi Setting? (5e)

Considering how easy it is to force Disadvantage in 5e, letting the shields grant Disadvantage wouldn't ruin any balance. And there's always the age-old tactic of ambush fighting. A good and stealthy combatant could eliminate a compound of hostiles, given enough time and resources. That aside...

New Background - Raised by Animals

Celebrim, I don't think you're in the proper forums. This is 5th Edition D&D. 5e does not get that complex and there are no "Traits" in this edition.

New Background - Raised by Animals

Well, that depends on how resourceful the player is. I have an Outlander Barbarian that, according to his backstory, is the son of a successful nomadic caravan of traders and went to a Bard's College for further education. He is a gentleman and a scholar and is very well-educated, but despite...

New Background - Raised by Animals

The problem with this is that it's already covered under the Outlander Background. One of the table examples is "I was, in fact, raised by wolves." Any DM worth his salt can just reflavor "Wolves" into any other animal. It still gets the same result, and in this edition, if something ain't...

    Unified Multiclassing: BAB?

Multiclassing adds variability but takes away the majority of "Hard Hitting" features, like the Extra Attack. This is done for the sake of simplicity and balance. There's two ways to break the game; breaking the numbers, and breaking the meta. When you break the numbers, you get things like "+20...

    Brain storming a spell mechanic

I had a D&D character that desperately wished to talk to a deceased love, so I looked through the spells section in the PHB and all the other source books (Back in 3.5, so there were many) and found no such spell. He didn't want a Gate to go talk to her in her home plane, he didn't want to...

    Dual Wield Barbarian Path

I could be wrong, but isn't this already an Unearthed Arcana article? Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy the look of a Barbarian sprinting about the battlefield with two weapons and ripping through his foes, but I don't think it requires an archetype when just taking the Mobile Feat will get...

    [Optional Rule] Knockout Blow

I'm with Dausuul on this one. This rule does feel somewhat superfluous. A rogue's Sneak Attack is already pretty devastating as a "Put them down" tactic. You as a DM can allow whatever you'd like at your table, but this seems like it'd only be necessary for narrative flair, and that's something...

    New Martial Base Class: Precisionist

I have to agree with the Jester. This sounds like an overly complex multiclass, rather than a class. Classes are meant to be the framework for interesting characters. They aren't quite as unique as the subclasses, but they each feel different and intriguing. This class doesn't have that feeling...

    New Martial Base Class: Precisionist

I'll go over it with a fine-toothed comb another time, but my preliminary findings are that this class feels needlessly complicated.

How to Encourage Melee Combat in a Sci-fi Setting? (5e)

A problem shouldn't be fixed with some silly little dohicky or McGuffin. That just starts to feel like lousy DMing and a bit of a copout. Also, unless you want this campaign setting to be all melee all the time, don't try to get fancy, it just makes the ranged fighters feel inadequate. Instead...

    New Martial Base Class: Precisionist

If they aren't proficient in something, they shouldn't start with it.

My (mostly) all encompassing home-brew setting. Comments and suggestions welcome!

I'm with dave2008 on this one: Angels primarily exist as a counter to demons and devils. As do Inevitables. It's your setting, so I won't say anything bad about it, but that aspect of the world doesn't sit well with me either. I prefer the idea that the throes of creation created the multiverse...

    New Martial Base Class: Precisionist

First issue, you mention that it's proficient in only the use of Blowguns, Daggers, and Darts in its proficiencies section, but then give it a Rapier or two Shortswords as its starting equipment. You forgot to write in "Simple Weapons" didn't you? Well, I didn't see too many other problems with...

How to Encourage Melee Combat in a Sci-fi Setting? (5e)

Ranged attack rolls against a target wearing a field generator have Disadvantage. Problem solved. Another easy way to deal with this problem is just say "They're laying prone to take ranged shots at you. You have Disadvantage on ranged attack rolls against them". Or, you can try rebalancing the...

    Artificer Class 5e Homebrew

I came back to reread your homebrew, and it turns out, you glossed over how their infusions actually work. Like Warlocks have a passage in their class description about their Invocations. You need to include something similar.
