I just realized that the thread I saw was from the Kotaku In Action subreddit, so of course it's going to be full of edgelords who think people are sensitive snowflakes. Never mind, their view in this matter doesn't really count.

Unfortunately, there seem to be plenty of people who think it's okay. I just made the mistake of reading a Reddit thread in which it appeared the majority of posters were of the opinion that what the GM did was perfectly fine and that the players were just being too sensitive.

I could almost agree except for the fact that Savage Worlds places so much emphasis on maps and minis and has all those little fiddly combat modifiers that come into play.

But wasn't Pathfinder originally sold as a more streamlined version of 3.5?

I welcome anything that makes monsters and NPCs easier to run at the table. I really enjoy the way some of the OSR systems distill them down to their most necessary elements, often just armor class, hit dice (which often double as a to-hit bonus), and any special notes on their attacks.
