new death save == leave your buddy on the floor for 3 rounds?

I hadn't thunk of your solution. Yours is probably easier to explain than mine.

new death save == leave your buddy on the floor for 3 rounds?

Amateurs... All y'all with your amateur hour tiny simulations can go eat pie. I have computed the exact (as in, no simulation, no rounding) probabilities of death of survival, given the number of bleeding counters you currently have, as well as the expected number of rounds until you live/die...

    What's the point buy?

I buy that. I was hoping these slightly higher stats were part of the rules. Oh well. Sébastien Loisel

    What's the point buy?

I was looking at the 6 characters. Since there are only 4 odd numbers out of 36 rolls, it is safe to assume (p-value>99% ;-) ) that these characters were not rolled. I've been punching the characters in to a point-buy calculator and I'm getting values between 31 and 36, assuming various racial...

    Update: Sorcerer/MotAO/ES (Air) for RttToEE.

I play lots of sorcerors. Here's my build, it's fairly optimized. Stats, in order of importance: Cha, Con, Int, Wis, Dex, Str. I sacrifice Dex and Str because they are completely obsolete once you have Polymorph Other. Con isn't obsolete because of the funky HP calculations with PO. Race...

    Worse. Character. Name. Ever!!

my contributions For a Marvel Superheroes game, one guy had a strong brawling type guy with moss growing on his chest and arms. His name was "Tundra, the Canadian Shield." And then there was the Jedi named Justin Time. Lastly, in a D&D campaign, when they asked for the girl's last name, I...

    Smackdown!

Is this a known one? Candle caster 10/wizard 10, with two striped candles. Each striped candle has two triple-empowered Flame Arrows. On her round, the candle caster (who is hasted by a method of your choice) lights both candles and casts a quickened, empowered Flame Arrow. Result (I make...

    How does eyebite work?

Also, if it really is just a single target that gets affected, how do mirrors work in all this? The spell description says you can be affected by your reflection, but can't you just choose to affect someone else than yourself if you just have a single target to choose? In other words, the only...

    How does eyebite work?

My PHB reads: "Each round, a gaze attack automatically works against one creature within range that is looking at (...) the gazing creature." I was wondering if you get to choose between eligible creatures, but I couldn't figure it out from the spell description. So then I checked gaze attacks...

    Sorceror WOTC optional rule question

I have a vague recollection of someone mentioning there had been an optional rule in a dragon magazine or something allowing sorcerors to "upgrade" existing spells as more powerful spells become available. As I understand it, this optional rule would say that when you reach level 6, if you have...

Thanks, guys, you've ruined Haste for the rest of us.

i'm not sure quickened for sorceror will be in ...except that, apparently at the Winter Fantasy seminar... I feel a lot like WotC has been treating the sorceror like a second-class arcane spellcaster; I wouldn't be surprised if this no haste, no quickened thing, and (apparently) no higher #...

Any board participants also playtest for WotC?

While following the haste whining thread, it occured to me that perhaps (if there's any justice) someone is able to provide adequate feedback to WotC about these proposed changes we're hearing about. Anyone on these boards in touch with WotC for tweaking the 3.5e rules?

Quickened for sorcerors People suggest that quicken will replace haste. Does that leave the sorceror hanging dry? (Arcane preparation isn't core so let's disregard it.)

Apologies for erroneous chart I had no idea people posted so much on this board. Thanks for pointing out errors in my program. I invite all to take a second look. The chart in my original post has been revised, the average damage for that character looks like it's 60-85.

Benchmark Fighter? I've noticed that people are arguing over what's good damage for a fighter. On the one hand, you can have a level 20 fighter with 6 strength and a dagger-2, doing 1 damage per attack and not hitting a whole lot. Or you can have a level 12 fighter with a longsword+2 and a...
