    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

You can play humans, aliens (ailurians, zygons, sontarans, and ood all have pre-generated trait packages in 1e), and timelords. Timelords get better at skills and some stats, but have a lot less storypoints as balancing. It works remarkably well. So you can have bumbling fools stealing a TARDIS...

    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

It's hard to not express disappointment when there's been one book stealth published in 2020 after three years of absolute silence about the game line as Warhammer and The One Ring got all focus. Many of us are fans of the Vortex game and love it, and the harsh reality is that it is harder to...

    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

This reminded me of another thing I really liked in Doctor Who AITAS 1e: only the TARDIS had an experience system. The players were expected to play the characters to get the appropriate traits (unless selected during character creation). Act like an arrogant ass to people and the GM might give...

    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

Yes. You can also play no timelords, or all timelords, or specific doctor and specific companions as well as new timelord and companions (humans or aliens).

    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

I love the Doctor Who RPG, it's great and can handle everything from the show. DnD 5e is good for Dungeons & Dragons and not anything else IMO. Sure, one could throw out everything and just keep the roll a d20, but is it really 5e at that time?

    D&D 5E Doctors & Daleks - Cubicle 7 Brings Doctor Who to D&D 5E

The rules they're using for Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space? It can do the goofy stuff but also remarkably poignant. It also have the best initiative system ever. (Talkers go first, then runners, then doers, and last people who still want to fight.)

D&D General Do you use Alignment in your D&D games?

Yeah, but if the creator of the alignments use mutilation and murder of captured enemies as lawful good paladin, clearly it can mean whatever you want. So why bother? But you do what you do. (And of course the world hasn't imploded. It's a game. But we don't need to retain badly designed stuff...

D&D General Do you use Alignment in your D&D games?

Nope. Never. They don't make sense because everyone has their own take on it, and reading Gygax views on some of them I noped out as fast as I could because nothing good will come out of it. And I know this will sound heretical, but I love Planescape but even so the alignments for the factions...

    TSR Darlene tells NuTSR NO!

But it is good when it happens, but yeah, it's not standard anywhere sadly outside of certain publishers. IDW updates the credits on their tradepaper back reprints, the most high-profiled one was older stuff drawn by Sophie Campbell and they went in and changed all the credits.

Vin Diesel on Dungeons and Dragons

Joe Magnaniello questioned if Vin Diesel was playing because no-one he knows has played with him. And judging from Diesel's instagram, he's just far more interested in playing DnD with his kids (and friends that are okay with gaming with his kids) than celebrities.

Impromptu Stream with Ed Greenwood, Tim Kask, & TSR CCO

This shouldn't be a surprise. Five seconds of looking at WordNerd's twitter and you'll see that he's part of War Campaign, you know, the splinter group that felt that Comicsgate wasn't genuine enough about culture war and harassment. So this and the ten minute+ rant at the beginning of the video...

D&D 5E Anyone using spell points from the DMG?

This is great! Thank you. The Warlock's "fewer spell slots but always higher power" looks good on paper but the spell list is horrible at utilising this.

Check Out The Cover of the Upcoming Doctor Who: Second Edition RPG!

I think both updating the rules and not jsut doing a redress added some time, as well as the fact that it was a lot longer between the seasons for Thirteen than the ones before. Because you probably need at least one seasons worth before you can even start writing the rpg. And then I'm sure...

Check Out The Cover of the Upcoming Doctor Who: Second Edition RPG!

All those previous "editions" were more revisions and on the whole only differed in which Doctor it was based on and what traits were in the core book. Also some errata and layout fixes of course. But they were all based on the first Vortex Engine (Just like Primeval and Rocket Age). This is...

TSR TSR (2) Confirms TSR (3)'s Acquisition of Trademark (Updated!)

Both those accounts are Varg. And this is a person who doesn't like being called a neo-nazi because "the nazis lacked follow-through." Ernie follows him too.

D&D 5E Ray Winninger mentions third project!

I feel those miss the mark too, they're still the unified marketable look tiefling and not the ones that could be whatever ancestry as long as it's not elemental or angelic.

D&D 5E Ray Winninger mentions third project!

I'd even say that without being shoehorned into the alignment chart, the factions' belief structure is both more prominent and less stereotypical which means it's better in play. Combined with the renown rules they worked out for Ravnica, I'd say 5e is a far better fit for Planescape now than it...

GI Joe, Transformers, My Little Pony RPGs Also Confirmed For 2021

The biggest issue is that none of the toy lines are built to be zero-to-hero in the way that DnD is built, they are all pretty much competent from the start. So while power levels for crossovers are problematic, to are the internal competence of the characters you want to play. Are you going to...
