What do I do with this setting?!

Talenta halflings do this on a daily basis in Eberron.

    The Tome of Psionics...?

As much as I like a lot of the material in Complete Psionic, I'd still have to say I think that book impugned Bruce's honor well enough. Additionally, the concepts of Weapons of Legacy was very strongly appealing, I use them in my campaign, but the execution, presentation and organization of...

Care to share those designs? :)

Eberron- What do Aberrant Dragonmarks look like?

And here's the illustration for the "Child of Khyber" PrC from the Dragonmarked Art Gallery. It seems that this PrC was cut from the book and made into a Dragonshard article.

    Weapons of Legacy

Actually, no, they're not supposed to just be "powerful." The point of WoL is to have an item that grows powerful as you do rather than selling one weapon just to wield the shiny new one you found, which seems rather dry. That hasn't been my experience at all. Almost every player that I've...

    Weapons of Legacy

I don't see the weapons of legacy system being so bad that I would expect another player to be a designated crafter for the rest of the party. Additionally, if I'm playing a solo campaign, legacy items and the legacy PrC would be fine with me.

    Weapons of Legacy

Right, but making it yourself requires feats, time and XP. Powers that are automatically available at their respective levels.

    Weapons of Legacy

Technically, one could offset the penalties by purchasing magic items with the money saved from having a legacy item. I wouldn't say the product is a failure. It's a sound idea that was weakly executed, but definitely still useful. Regarding Knowledge rolls, you can also take it to a sage and...

    Weapons of Legacy

The other thing to consider about Weapons of Legacy is the prestige class associated with it. The PrC allows you to alter existing legacy item abilities, negate penalties, and advance as your previous class in almost all respects to that class among other things.

    Weapons of Legacy

In regards to creating new legacy items, using the abilities and properties from Magic Item Compendium really adds to that versatility. MIC already prices them and associates them with certain levels, which makes it even easier. I had started a thread on WotC's Equipment and Combat forum about...

    How important are pretty maps?

I tend to prefer maps that are designed to squares rather than simply having a grid layer on it. There's nothing I hate more than trying to recreate the map for combat use and struggling to figure out the placement of items on the grids/hexes. I also dislike overly simple maps that have...

    Rediscovering D&D

Have you checked out the Eberron Campaign Setting? It's chock full of material exactly for this theme. Xen'drik is an entire continent that is exactly that feel of exploration of the unknown. The continent of Khorvaire (the main continent on which the setting takes place) has tons of areas and...

Dungeon Tiles + dry-erase markers = bad idea?

I wouldn't. I tried it with wet erase, and it didn't completely come off. Black worked OK, but it still left a faded residual mark. Red doesn't come out at all. It really diminishes the value if it doesn't come off so well. I'm tempted to try spraying Scotchgard on them to see if that works.

    What happened to the Vasharans?

Yep, it's called the Flesheater, and it's in Dragon Issue #300
  16. Kristian Serrano

    What happened to the Vasharans?

Exactly. The Vashar and the Jerren were just examples of how one can create "vile" counterparts to PHB races. Although, Dragon Magazine once featured a PrC for the Jerren around the time BoVD was released.

    A Question About Eric Noah

Eric Noah is the person after whom I model all of my own favorite D&D player characters. Before he fostered this d20 community, I had no inspiration for character concepts.

Sales of upcoming Greyhawk Ruins will determine it's future

PrCs Expedition to Castle Ravenloft included PrCs and feats (I think) specific to the adventure; I'm hoping Expedition to Greyhawk Ruins will do the same.
