You know, I'm willing to bet that if the MM was printed today, the NPC kobold stat-block would grant darkvision. Opinions have apparently changed on the matter; FRPG drow have it, MM2 duergar have it, and there are several low-level magic items which give a limited version of it. If it bugs you...

Because they're ripped straight from the Monster Manual, just like the minotaur would have been if an actual PC version hadn't been made available before the Character Builder even came out.

    December and Beyond!

We've already seen martial practices too; they were previewed in September's Ampersand.

    December and Beyond!

To be honest, aside from the warlord bit, that blurb really doesn't tell us much of anything. And we've known for a while there would be a ranged warlord build. If you're curious, we also know that there will be a two-handed-weapon ranger build.

Dragon 381 - Class Acts: Paladin

The Raven Queen is not an evil god, just a god of death. So it makes sense that the power of death is among the weapons her servants can wield. Vecna (and to a lesser extent Zehir) are evil gods, but they're actively trying to usurp the Raven Queen's power over death and shadow.

What 21st Level Monsters Still Need Converting?

So you're asking for 3e or 3.5 (or before) monsters that should be level 21 in 4e?

    4E subforum?

Yeah, they kind of do. It's mythological. ...yes. They were angels. They killed their god, and were cursed. What, are they supposed to somehow break free of their ancient home-turned-prison in order to hike across the universe to set up shop in the domain of their omnicidal ancient enemies? Why...

    Battlemind

Yeah, we already know what the Wilden is. It's been in the Compendium for three months. (They're Wis/Con plant people, like 3.5's Killoren, with three racial powers they can switch between with an extended rest.)

    The Goblin Hulk

Holy crap, it's a sourcebook for the Raft! In D&D 4e! With goblinoids! SOLD.

    Choosing Magic Items: Daily Powers?

It would have to be really cool, or really strong. Otherwise, no, I don't ever factor an item's daily power into my buying decisions.

    Winning Races: Halfling - Nice

It's an intentional design limitation. THAT DOES NOT LIMIT anything other than the one thing which it clearly says it limits.

    4E for 'low powered' settings...

Ourph has it. 4e characters as Big Damn Heroes is something of a core tenet of the system, but they can be Big Damn Heroes in a low-magic mythological-history setting with very little difficulty. I wouldn't bother to restrict anything at all, actually. Go through it on a case-by-case basis. If...

ALCHEMIST in Resa & Kiel article

... he described a leader with the Artificer's primary distinguishing class feature, and a power "theme" that matches with the Artificer's actual powers. It's the Artificer.

Wizards in 4E have been 'neutered' argument...

I can't speak for that specific paragraph, but unless I've misread both him and Herremann, that is Mouseferatu's entire point in this thread. In the majority, people like to be effective all the time. People who often prefer waiting to be effective are a minority, and people who prefer needing...

    Sellout Woot and D&D

This post, right here? Post #2 in this thread? It's about as bizarre as the first one. The difference is thus: The OP is a long and hilariously incongruous juxtaposition of old-school D&D anecdotes and the world of user-unfriendly DVD player/converters, and conveys a valuable subtext/review...

Yeah, that's a druid spell now. Good point.

Wizards in 4E have been 'neutered' argument...

He's right. Full casters have been neutered. They are no longer multiple times better than any non-full-caster class; they no longer have entire books worth of spells that no one else can use, but which their character can learn all of; they can no longer end a wide array of fights almost...
