    Primal Power Discussion

Word of God: It's supposed to be "+2 to attack foes who marked you", like the table says. Errata no doubt coming very soon on that one.

Do you know how many powers there are currently out there?

The Consolidated Lists are very, very incomplete. Try Crystal Keep.

Do you know how many powers there are currently out there?

Mm. As you said, I think it is more a case of meaningful options rather than total number. You suggest that a DM's burden is increased by the total number of powers in the game. I don't see how that could be possible, since any one party cannot throw more than a tiny fraction of those powers...

Do you know how many powers there are currently out there?

That's a rather silly question, isn't it? Try this one instead: With the release of Primal Power, almost every class has approximately eight different options to choose from at each level where it gains a power. Is this too many choices to expect a player to choose from (once, as part of the...

So why are you at ENWorld?

In the short term, and generally: because I have ten minutes to kill, and no one has yet responded to any of the RPGnet threads I'm following. How I got here: a link from RPGnet or GiantITP. Probably when someone crossposted a really interesting thread to two or all three of those sites, and I...

    Metallic Dragons excerpts

One: in a world created by gods and primordials, the answer is generally going to be yes! Gods made almost everything non-elemental that lives, so it's not terribly surprising that most individual species trace their history back to the gods! If you don't like gods, PoLand is just plain going to...

"You're a half elf? Really?" From the P.A. Podcasts

My bard is human, but that's hardly one of his defining aspects. Without changing anything about him, he could be a half-elf raised in the city, or an eladrin, or a city-born elf. He could be a halfling or a gnome. He could even be a deva. He could be a dwarf--though in my current campaign...

"You're a half elf? Really?" From the P.A. Podcasts

Who are you to tell me what the fundamental elements of my character are?

    Abyssal Genasi

Interesting note: when you use Void Assumption, you don't need line of sight or line of effect to the square in which you choose to reincarnate. I love this power.

What holds the world in balance? (or, why aren't demons over-running the world?)

Why aren't demons overrunning the world? Because they are not adjacent to the world. Why would they travel an infinite distance to get here when there's perfectly good realms to overrun and corrupt and raze and destroy within spitting distance? It would be rather like Nazi Germany advancing on...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

It's been said above already, multiple times, but this wizard isn't going to get "followers". He's going to get "follower". Just the one. A low-level one, at that. In short, we are talking about an apprentice. Is your DM really trying to tell you that it would strain his suspension of...

    Is WOTC headed for a TSR-ending? :/

Take it up with the Ench--I was trying to paraphrase him, not express my own viewpoint. Silverblade here appears to be saying two good things about a company, and somehow extrapolating from those two high points a curve which ends in doom.

    Is WOTC headed for a TSR-ending? :/

Um. Wait. Your argument is that the D&D products being produced now are the best they've been in a long time; and that the brand is transitioning to the digital era, as you say it needs to do, with great skill... ...and therefore D&D is doomed? What?

    Dragon Mag Trust Issues

I got one outta Eberron, several outta the PHB, and one or two outta Divine Power. Certainly none out of Dragon.

    Dragon Mag Trust Issues

Memory has pissed in your soup, Wik, because there is no feat which gives those bonuses unconditionally. Not in Dragon Magazine or anywhere else.

Primal Power new builds spoiled on RPG.net

Paragraph breaks are good, yo: Barbarian ▪ Thunderborn Barbarian ("surrounded by a cloak of thunder spirits") ▪ Whirling Barbarian ("armed with two weapons, cuts through foes like a cyclone") Druid ▪ Swarm Druid (beast form with lots of area-effect attacks) ▪ Summoner Druid (summons monsters...

My character concept is ruined by the Rules!

Probably the same sort of person who can manage to deny their existence in the first place. A snark-hunter. You'd have to be a bit of an odd duck, but we are talking about zombie Theodore Roosevelt here. Now, that would be interestingly tricky theological ground--any learned man would see this...

    Assassins as a Heroic Archetype?

But is still a nice guy. Kinda heroic. Does the right thing, or at least some rough approximation of it. He en't always paladin good, but he's not Jayne Cobb. So? Everyoneon this list (that I recognize, at least) is explicitly a criminal in at least one nation. He's a mob boss, yeah, but a...

My character concept is ruined by the Rules!

Oh, forgot to mention invokers on the list of implement classes which would work. I think they fit pretty well with the (faulty) conception you originally had of the avenger.

My character concept is ruined by the Rules!

:erm: Why would your first choice for making a ranged atheist character be a melee-specialist acrobatic divine class? Try rogue, or ranger, or seeker, or bard, or artificer. Or use an implement that looks like a hunting rifle instead of a crossbow that looks like a hunting rifle, and try cleric...
