D&D 5E 5e Ready Action - Ready action on your turn so that you can act later in the round using your reaction.

Those that created version 5 just got the word "weave" stuck in theirs heads that all, a weave would indicate that there is a pattern with some locations having stronger magic and others weaker, lay lines, but magic is everywhere, in all living things, the rocks, the water, the air, in space...

D&D 5E 5e Ready Action - Ready action on your turn so that you can act later in the round using your reaction.

I have never seen any group allow a spell caster to know instantly that someone is casting a spell, weave, there is no weave Visual clues that a caster is casting can be masked by trying to hide any signs of casting; DC "Sleight of Hands" or "Deception" vs Perception checks magic items use...

I thought also that a spell caster might fake a spell casting with hand gestures and some words that sound magical just to throw off the fighter/paladin/etc.. (Ready Action Reaction attack cause the warrior to lose the multiple attacks) also the spell caster could cast Shield as a reaction to...

No my game has the normal casting time per the book, by old school me believes you should be able to stop a spell caster from casting a spell using the Ready Action "Reaction" 1 attack per the rules using the counterspell as the example of the "Reaction" stopping the caster from casting

D&D 5E 5e Ready Action - Ready action on your turn so that you can act later in the round using your reaction.

I would say technically yes due the fact that the Counterspell is a "Reaction" spell that requires casting to interrupt a creature in the process of casting a spell. Reaction = Reaction, the math seems sound, Reaction Rules are not broken by it

There is a feat, Mage Slayer that comes close but nothing to stop spell casting I would allow it if the Spell Casting takes longer than an Action maybe a DC Dex check vs the Initiative of the Caster; failed the caster makes the cast Counterspell is a reaction that has a chance to stop the...
