D&D 5E Why did they design Demiplane to suck?

So you're leaving them to be a problem for future generations? Maybe they have cultists/minions who will spend all kinds of time trying to free them? It sounds to me like you're justifying the traditional "unbeatable evil bound to protect the world" shtick. :)

    Weakening an elder evil

I like it. The real test, though, is whether it works in your world. :)

It sounds like you have a plan.

    Weakening an elder evil

I can think of a few things your PCs might do to weaken an elder (or maybe 'eldrich', given that your villain isn't all *that* old) evil before the final battle. 1) The Frostfell Queen might have external power sources. She probably needed a whole lot of help to steal an entire god's power...

D&D 5E Reworking Answering. Or, would you allow an item to give a Legendary Action?

Personally I like the idea of especially powerful items granting Legendary Action options. But that's the thing--it needs to be a big deal item, and I'd also say that everything you have that grants Legendary Actions draws off the same pool of 3. A Sword of Answering? Sure--there's only supposed...

D&D 5E concentration in 5th edition, whats your fix?

I don't understand the problem. Concentration *is* a fix; the problem was the stacking buffs/debuffs that trivialized the contributions that non-casters made.

    D&D 5E Nystul's (Arcanist's?) Magic Aura vs Detect Magic?

Isn't Nystul's pretty much designed to spoof Detect Magic?

"Dust" and "Midway" - Codenames for Upcoming D&D Hardcovers

Chalk me up as another one who thinks "Dust" will be either Dark Sun or some other desert themed book. "Midway", though? I think Tony Vargas is on to something, though, and "Midway" is a war reference.

D&D 5E Curse of Strahd: Barovia needs about 10x more people

Clearly, this is too much for "a wizard did it". Thankfully, this is Ravenloft, and we can conclude that the Dark Powers did it instead. :P

    D&D 5E Werewolves/rats and damage immunity

So what you're saying is, wererats got nads. :P

    D&D 5E Werewolves/rats and damage immunity

How about drowning it in raw sewage?

    D&D 5E Werewolves/rats and damage immunity

Back in the 2e days, I had my group fighting wererats in the sewers, and one had to drown his, since he didn't have a weapon that could hurt it directly.

    D&D 5E Warlord Name Poll

If "Warlord" and "Commander" don't work, why not "Champion"?

D&D 5E Where do you get silver powder?

Where do you get silver dust? From silver pieces and a modified mill. You know some church has tried it that way....

D&D 5E What can you make with Alchemist's Tools?

Small (but probably very high quality) quantities of distilled spirits. I'm actually not joking here. That would be one genuine use (and actually one mentioned in some earlier editions' versions of the alchemist).

Gen Con Takes Stand For Inclusiveness

Why should anybody be forced to move to another city/state/country if they want to buy groceries?

D&D 5E can warlocks be good guys?

The Danny Ketch version of Ghost Rider, then. Or even Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider, with the understanding that he fought against his own patron as much as any other enemy. Someone also mentioned Harry Dresden, and made a decent case for multiple pacts over time in his case, including celestial.

D&D 5E can warlocks be good guys?

"Good" might be a stretch for an Old One, but at least some of the beings of the Cthulhu Mythos (and that's what we're really talking about here, of course) were willing to help out humanity for their own reasons. The best example of this would be Nodens, who (if I remember correctly) enjoyed...

D&D 5E can warlocks be good guys?

Ever hear of a superhero named Ghost Rider? Maybe John Constantine rings a bell? There's a tradition of using malevolent power against its creator/owner, although that route is certainly dangerous.

D&D 5E Why you shouldn't allow optional rules.

Peak human fitness and strength, cunning that rivals Batman, and literal divine favor. And he's arguably the least blatantly-superhuman of the ancient Greek heroes. More seriously, many folks out of myth and legend have superhuman abilities if not outright supernatural. Cú Chulainn and his warp...
