    D&D 5E Holy crap, that's cool

The Nethack dev team thinks of everything. :D

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

My biggest complaint about the Tarrasque is the lack of a radiation-based breath weapon. Seriously, what self-respecting kaiju *doesn't* have some kind of special weapon?

D&D 5E Martial Characters vs Real World Athletes

It seems I read your post as the opposite of what you actually meant. My apologies.

D&D 5E Martial Characters vs Real World Athletes

That's a bit disingenuous, don't you think? The complaint is not that martial heroes are "unrealistic for being realistic", but that D&D martial heroes are not only not larger-than-life like their models, but even fall short of reality. "Smaller than life" rather than "larger than life", if you...

Is it me or is death knell a crap spell?

As a death effect, it prevents the use of Raise Dead.

Spell casters using wands of higher level?

That is correct. There is no level-based limit on the use of a wand or staff, so long as the character has spellcasting ability (IIRC, Rangers and Paladins have to wait until they get their first spells before they can use wands or staves).

the Hexer, AWESOME!...oh no I take that back

This class was pretty much written for the Adept NPC class.

D&D 5E Do you think they will go back to driders being a curse instead of a blessing?

Chalk me up as another "I hope not" vote. It makes more sense for becoming a drider to be a reward--driders are literally closer to their goddess, even in shape.

D&D 5E Do we really need so many classes with Extra Attack?

IIRC the AOE damage aura stances were daily powers.

D&D 5E Do we really need so many classes with Extra Attack?

Did you not take the AOE encounter powers available to fighters? There aren't a huge number, but there are some.

D&D 5E Do we really need so many classes with Extra Attack?

What do you give the fighter to keep up with said other martial+something classes, then?

D&D 5E I cant wait to see what they do with backgrounds... one thing i hope is that there is a slot for flaws

Mutants and Masterminds 2nd and 3rd edition has a similar system that works about as well.

    D&D 5E Wandering Monsters 01/29/2014:Level Advancement...

IIRC, aren't levels 1-2 supposed to be an introduction/apprentice level, rather than serve as real adventurer material? Fine if you want to play there, but most groups aren't going to want to stay, even if that's where they start.

    D&D 5E Wandering Monsters 01/29/2014:Level Advancement...

Kind of. You still got it if you were a rogue and the DM used the optional individual rewards rules.

Adapting "Ghost Tower of Inverness" for 13th level PCs

Here's a thought--Fastilbras did the whole Goetic thing to try to purify himself, right? Maybe he came up short--maybe the Soul Gem encounter should involve completing that purification somehow. And maybe his body won't come back--it could be that this means giving up the things of the world...

Are high attributes more fun then low attributes?

High stats. I want to play a hero (or at least potential hero), not some shlub who struggles to lift his weapon.

D&D 5E Chill touch vs Troll regeneration

You don't necessarily have to stay close with Chill Touch for this; it also makes a good coup-de-gras to finish off an incapacitated troll. It *would* make the battle easier, though.

D&D 5E What spells are not Scalable and should be?

From a d4+trivial side effect to a death effect with a first level spell? No thanks--I liked the idea, but higher-level effects were way overpowered for its level.

Is Spell Blasting Doomed to Suck Even More in Next than it did in 3.x?

There's a legitimate complaint there, though. The monsters not serving themselves on a platter with buffs implies that they would be unbeatable without; it makes a cleric (or other buffer) mandatory, and a team of them better than a mixed team.
