Pathfinder 2E's New Death & Dying Rules; More on Resonance

My two cents- They have a lot of the right ideas, but are doing things in a very unnecessarily fiddly 3rd edition way.

Narrating Hit Points - no actual "damage"

That pretty much has to be the default, with how HP work in all editions. It's just kind of hand wavey. If every bit of damage was real injury, PCs would all be horribly scarred cripples by the end of the first dungeon. If every bit of damage was realistic injury, why is there absolutely no...

    D&D 5E Old Spice D&D Class: Thoughts?

Base attack bonuses, fort/ref/will saves, skill points, etc. Pathfinder is based in 3e, which has all that stuff. Don't worry, it is confusing.
  4. The Human Target

    Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

Do we know if these are reprints or not? Someone post a photo.
  5. The Human Target

D&D 5E Monster Races and a quick sword thrust at the gate

If you're so concerned with realism, you should have all but one race be extinct. Because in reality, elves and dwarves and humans and halflings would all have gotten into a giant race war and exterminated each other. Of course, having more than one race exist is pretty ludicrous so if you're...

D&D 5E Disarming a caster's component pouch to prevent him from casting spells

Yeah, no. The disarm rules stink. If you can do this kind of stuff, that's all anyone would ever do. The entire rest of the ruleset doesn't really support it. If you can pinpoint disarm a weapon or spell pouch, why can't you pinpoint cut off someone's hand or head?

D&D 5E Wait... why are we adventuring together?

Why am I still friends with people who live far away and lead very different lives from me in real life? Shared history, and affection. I'm sure if we had fought an ogre together, the bonds of friendship would be even greater.

    D&D 5E Players Self-Assigning Rolls

You shouldn't roll for attacks either, I bet it would be awesome!
  9. The Human Target

    D&D 5E Players Self-Assigning Rolls

The game is much more of an actual game now with clear rules that players can learn and anticipate the outcome of their actions. It's great!

    D&D 5E Thirteen observations about Xanathar’s Guide

I'm clapping and booing at the same time.
  11. The Human Target

D&D 5E Would you use Paladin "smite" spells if they were not concentration?

I echo the sentiment that Concentration isn't the problem.
  12. The Human Target

D&D 5E An alternative to eight hour healing

Holing up for in a dungeon room for days on end doesn't make your eyes roll?
  13. The Human Target

    Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

This pleases me. I hope they're not reprints. And I'm sad they're not coming out till after Christmas.
  14. The Human Target

D&D 5E How to GM a huge ruin?

Give your player characters total control over a huge city. Wait three to five sessions.
  15. The Human Target

D&D 5E Count of 5e saves from MM and PHB by stat and class

It's almost like the save system in 5e was horribly designed.
  16. The Human Target

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

I somehow am still shocked by the incredibly strong opinions people have about D&D stuff I consider to be totally trivial.
  17. The Human Target

UA: New Race Options, Eladrin and Gith

Someone needs to introduce the Eladrin to Lithium.
  18. The Human Target

    D&D 4E [4E] Dungeon Delve: worth getting?

Yeah it's only worth it if you're a completionist. I'd save the money.
  19. The Human Target

    D&D 5E Crawford's 9 D&D "Hacks"

I don't think they know what hacks are.
